I have a little flashlight that stays plugged into a 12V outlet. It is always charged, ready to go, and very bright for its small size. Well, I plugged it into my beautiful new 09 FX35 and nothing. The charge indicator does not come on. I plug in a cell phone charger and it's good. I plug the flashlight into another vehicle and it's good.
The bottom end of the flashlight is rounded and smooth and does not have a pin like many other 12V accessories. Are there different versions of 12V outlets and/or plugs? Is there something non-destructive that can be done? (yes, very small issue, but there really isn't anything else on the 09 FX to discuss or complain about. at least not yet.)
