10mm spacers require extended lugs?

Hi Guys - I've been thinking about using a 10mm spacer on all 4 corners for a better look.

I know I probably don't need to buy extended lugs with 5mm spacers but has anybody tried 10mm?

Thanks in advance

John

You do not. But why only 10mm. I think you need twice that to flush your wheels out(pending they're stock)

20mm will look perfectly flush on it. Anything below that won't look any better. Go with 30mm for an aggressive look lol.

I'm actually looking for a set of wheel spacer for my 11 FX. I have a stock 20inch wheel. I would also like to change my lugs just to make them stands out very nice. Do you have any recommendations? I have no idea where to get the spacers...Thanks in advance.

Ebay, i have 10mm on mine all the way around but my wheels have a 45° offset and they sit flush. With stock wheels i agree with the others get the 20mm and most kits come with new studs.

My 2 cents: having wheel spacers would be nice but tend to lean on the safety aspect as well. Spacers will be in full contact to the wheels and "IF" anything should fail due to limited thread contact then the outcome can be highly cost. Get some quality/proven wheel spacers with designed longer studs, it's a good piece of mind to have it done right.

I would recommend:
10mm/more = longer studs
5mm = stock studs

If you are mechanically inclined, you can follow the DIY (created by iS admin - FLX8R) and save the labor costs.

Good luck.

Advice so nice, he had to post it twice. Ha!

haha, that re-edit was buggy for me, made an extra note and got caught... :smile (2):

Thanks guys - I think I'll go with an aftermarket 20x9.5 ET40 and see if I still need spacers. Everyone is so helpful here unlike some of the BMW forums...geez.
