101 Octane

Today i dropped my girlfriend off at LAX. When i got off the 110 in pasadena going home, theres a 76 on the right side down from the freeway. I saw they had 101 "Racing Fuel", i was curious wat will happen if i filled my car up with it. BTW it was at an amazing price of 6 something. does higher octane gas improve cars at all? any of you guys ever tried it?

It won't do wonders for the performance unless ignition timing was changed specifically for the higher octane. I have 100 for 5.xx near my house. I used to out it in on really hot days, but got lazy since the fuel is from a car wash and the pump is only on during normal hours.

to my understanding, there's a place in Newport Beach that has 100+octane gas... the station gets a lot of euro exotics (Ferraris, Lambos etc. etc.) and rice rockets customers

Make sure it is unleaded.

Race fuel is commonly leaded, my roommate uses it in his dirt bike.

Definitely!! Make sure it says UNleaded or you'll end up blowing your 02 sensors and possibly the cats.

E85 is 105 octane. Too bad you guys don't have many pumps in Cali.
Right now the station I buy from, its only $1.99 / gallon.

I really need to change my injectors so I can run 100% E85. I run E55 currently.

Thats where I used to fuel up my rice rocket before Battle of the Imports, back in the day when I was on the bottle. Either there or go down to TRICK and fill up a couple of jugs. If your goin to the track you might want to consider storing it in Jugs - you dont want to be racing down the track with a full tank of gas - thats just dead weight.
