$100 to change spark plugs

Is 100 a fair price for plug swap? I don't really want to do it myself but I may try. I have done alternator( not fun at all) coilovers (fun-big parts not tedious)

$100 is a fair price if it's done at a mechanic shop by a professional mechanic, but it's also the kind of thing you can do yourself in an hour or 2.... really not that hard...

I know I can prob do it. It will be a mechanic. I don't really lik to mess with the areas I'm not familiar with. Not sure hat the "right" tools consist of

Do you have pics for how to change spark plugs for FX35 2004??? Any help would be greatly appreciated...I am just sick and tired of paying so much to get my spark plugs changed at the dealer...It is ridiculous...

Thanks in advance

Larry

I have 47K miles on my 2005 FX35, when should I change my spark plugs, wires, and battery? The dealer said 105k for the spark plugs, but I didn't ask about the battery. Is the 105K true as well?

If you can do plugs yourself, plugs are cheap. Do them often even platinum every 50k and iridiums every 20-30k for optimal performance and fuel economy.

Measure gap on plugs, even pregapped isn't always spot on.

Pretty sure that your lives are inaccurate there (i.e. Iridium life is actually greater than Platinum life). I'm still too new to post links, but there is a write-up on the Toyota website that says platinums - 60k and iridiums 110k (couldn't find any mention of anything on infiniti site).

I pulled the plugs on my FX at 70k and just put them back in - still looked fine. I'll probably swap em out ~90-95 (on my last car 1 failed ~99k).

Assuming that the plug is not malfunctioning (the computer will tell you if this is the case), there will not be a change in fuel economy when changing plugs.

I got them all done. About an hour and a half. Not bad for my first plug swap. The old plugs may be the originals? I got the car at 66k and now it has 160k

Wow, looks a little overdue there ;) Did your car show any signs, like hesitation or anything?

Congrats and with me at least, I always feel a sense of accomplishment when I do it myself ;)

Yeah it was fun to say I did that myself. Some slight hesitation. Not sure if it was from plugs but they don't look good. Cranked it idled and rev up some seems to one a bit different but that's probably all in my head. About to drive it for a while new to see if it changed anything

My mechanic tried charging me 120 just for the NGK iridium spark plugs when I went for my inspection a few days ago that passed....I said, you know I am going for my PhD now, how stupid do you think I am? lol...Heading to AAP now to get the plugs and do it myself
