My wife has been driving the G37S for five years. She decided she needed a larger vehicle and settled in on the FX35. So she'll be driving that and I suppose I'll "have" to drive the G37S. Whoa is me ;)

The G37S has been fairly trouble free other than problems with brake rotors. They seem to shake after a bit. 4 sets in 35k miles. Trying a different manufacturer this last time. No mods other than the front wheels & tires were replaced with a pair of rear wheels & tires. Yay for tire rotation!

The FX35 is a very nice looking vehicle but the relationship is not starting too good though. When we got it home I realized that most of the interior lights were out. Also within a couple of days someone bumped the left rear door. I also discovered that the left front fender had been replaced.

I do my own wrenching as much as possible. Hopefully the G37S will continue to just require regular maintenance and the FX35 will follow suit.

If someone asked me "is the fx reliable?" - without hesitation I'd say yes!

But my maintenance log says differently. But when I review the log it's a bunch of piddly shit. An Interior light here, a tag light there, a window switch , a serpentine belt, battery , windshield wipers, key fob battery , tag rivet, catalytic converters went bad and even currently - my fuel gauge doesn't work cause my fuel pump twisted a little bit.

All that since I've had it for about 5 months.

Compare that with some Honda's I owned (3) - I would say they were not reliable even though they only had 1-2 issues - but the issues they had were big and left me completely stranded and without car for days.

So back to the fx - the engine is on wards best engine list - it's a gas jog but takes a licking and keeps on ticking. The tranny? Search around for tranny failure, it's practically unheard of.

I'll take my death by a thousand cuts any day over vehicles that have major failure.
