I just turned it on and drove it so whatever normals gets turned on/off at that time. Stiff steering meaning it takes more force to turn the wheel, than alot of other cars/suv/trucks that I have driven. It also had some rust bubbles on the hood of the car so that would have to be fixed at some point
Re. the driving. It does sound like you had it in automatic with the VDC on. As blueduck mentioned, it is not the most responsive vehicle on the road. A stock first gen, in automatic, with VDC on, will not be super responsive. However, much of this feel changes with some setting changes and mods.
As mentioned, if you can, find some others to test drive and compare with. It is worth shopping around for. Also, rust on the painted areas always makes me nervous, especially on an Infiniti. They have pretty good paint, so rust could indicate damage at some point. Might be worse than is visible.
