04 FX45 performance lost

Hi everybody, im new to this forum. I have a question that hopefully you guys could help me out. i have a 04 FX45, got 48000 miles on it, and for the past month it seems like ive been losing so much performance. i did 0-60 three times and it came out to 7.45-7.63. i have just put in a k&n filter recently and everything else is stock. i appreciate if any members know why... thank you. BTW.. i got smoked by a stock 07 accord v6 coupe from 0-60 on a straight line :embarrassed:.

What that time before or after the K&N filter install? Welcome to IS.

the time before that was around 6.7 around there. i did not rest the ecu because i dont even know wats the reason. its bothering me so much, wen im cruising at 80km/h then accelerate, the pull is weak compared to before.

what about a ECU reset? :dontknow:
+1 on ecu reset. Also have you noticed a decrease in fuel milage?

What octane fuel are you using? Low octane fuel can cause injectors to become dirty.

I ran some injector/fuel system cleaner through a couple of tank fills and checked MPG over three weeks of driving around town,up and down the mountain, and on freeways now I'm back up to 18.6 MPG from 13.2 MPG

thx for all the info so far. MTN FX, u got a good point there, my fuel mileage is alot less. i use 91 here in canada. but everytime i fill my tank, the fuel meter never goes all the way to the top anymore even tho i fill it to the top.wat kind of injector/fuel system cleaner i should use?

If the fuel meter does not go all the way to the top you may also have a fuel sensor issue keep a fuel log and figure out your actual MPG the old scool way.

stp, gumout, shell vpower. any of their full fuel injector cleaners will work... using a good quality gas consistently will keep you from having to use it as often. If the injectors are good they recomend a bottle in a tank full of fuel when you do oil change . Best to pour it in your tank when its low and you are at the gas staion filling up.

the idle is not rough, and i cant say like brand new fx. the filter is brand new wen i put it in. do u think resetting the ecu will solve it? if it will then how to do it.. thx

See this for ECU reset----

Ecu reset, Acc. pedeal release pos., Throttle closed pos., Idle air volume learn - InfinitiScene.com

wow, do i have to do all the step?!?!
-ECU Resetting Procedures
-Accelerator Pedal Release Position Learning
-Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning

-Idle Air Volume Learning (Throttle Position Learning)

which of these steps i do first if i have to do them all ?

Just pull the battery cable, call it a day . . go to sleep. tomorrow hook it up again. Reset done

MTN FX has given you many ideas and valid points on your situation. Another thing to consider would be to clean out the throttle body of unwanted residue.

And yea just remove one of the battery cables over night and plug it back in the morning and your ecu will be reset. Good luck.
