I've had a few time where the car hesitated to start until about two weeks ago it just wouldn't start at all , eventually it finally did and from a little research I have found it is most likely the throttle body that needs cleaning.
so I've watched a video on Youtube and got the basics and started working on it .Trying to be thorough I unplugged it , sprayed the cleaner used a toothbrush and removed the flap completely by forcing it open all the way , then polished it clean and the TB looked like new.
put it all back together , didn't realize that the boot that connects the TB to the intake had a big tare , and when started the car back up the idle was on about 1200rpm and won't go down.
Figured that every time you unplug the TB electronic cable you need to perform a relearn.
Tried it many times unsuccessfully thinking the procedure wasn't correct, even tried a maxi sys computer that does most car computer related tasks , every time the the relearn would appear to succeed then again idle back to 1200.
Read many forums to realize there were to options:
throttle body was damaged -or the relearn can only be performed by dealer with Nissan consult 2.
ordered a new TB by hitachi for 140$ which is exactly what i had , so i assume it the stock.
Was facing a dilemma -go to dealer which wanted 125$ to relearn and return the TB or replace it and hope the relearn will work.
worst case scenario replace the TB then have to go to dealer and relearn and not be able to return it.
I took the chance and did it myself and the procedure went smooth and on the first try , and the car went back to normal operation.
this is my experience , and after reading so much about it I still don't understand what went wrong , why would a component that constantly moves by command from a computer be so sensitive , did the TB get damaged or does it need special calibration done by a consult 2 ?
