One step closer to finalizing my in-car tablet/network install research!

well you will have to cut the vents a little to make room for the plugs, if you use the same tablet I have I'd say to get the HDMI adapter because it allows you to plug charging and audio all at just one plug on one side only, will make i easier than one plug at each side.

all this tablet playing has me thinking of maybe upgrading my dash to android instead of windows... I should be able to fit a nice 10" tablet in there I think :)

That was some extensive cosmetic surgery. :top:

yeah, I love it when I would tell anyone that my dash is all custom, then when they look at it they just ask where? I don't see anything? it looks stock to me :)

I can see how someone would say Custom where?.......... but its all in the details. Nice job. I still havent done my yet. I guess I will do it eventually but then again someone with authority said leave it like it is.................... (sigh).

Hey anyone think the ipad mini could work in our cars??

i'll be honest, i never took it to the next level yet... i still plan on doing it but i want to save up money and find time... (consumed by work)... i don't know about the ipad mini.. u would have to find out the dimensions and test fit... somewhere in here i took some sample dimensions and how much room we have back there to play with

Wow beyond cool man! Actually saw a guy do this with an Ipad on the cummins forum a while back. It is a cool setup because it integrates technology we use everyday into our cars. I like it. What did you do with the old screen though? I thought you need it to see air conditioning functions and diagnostics?

This may be misdirected but.... My display circuitboard just went on me so:

1. Is this something I can consider as a replacement and
2. Are you going to stop using your OEM display because of this upgrade? *cough* can buy it *cough*

Thanks.

I was also wondering this? How would you see the regular functions and car diagnostics that normally are seen in the factory display?
I really like being able to check my tire pressure on the screen...can this be integrated or if you move to something like that, do you
lose all that functionality? Anyone chime in?

just saw this, still hasnt happened but.. OEM screen would be relocated to where clock is or a custom mount where the sunglasses holder is..

check out htc evo in dash customjeff fx45

i've botched the whole android deal.. its a functionality issue... gonna do full car pc with centrafuse and some gadgets.. itll get more pricey but will be the most OEM look/feel and beyond crazy with functions including saving sirius/xm functionality on car pc

I think I read somewhere that centrafuse went out of business. didn't dig any deeper to confirm though, might want to look into it

Really? I was on their site and it didn't seem like it but I will double check.. That would really suck if they are
