FX/QX70 ... Space for children and a dog?

Hi all,
I get the sense there aren't a lot of family men on here but I'll give this a shot anyway.
We currently have a '15 QX70 and my wife and I are loving it. We've had it for about a year now and while it's a lease, we think we may keep it longer. The platform, powertrain, and tech all seem well sorted and reliable long term, while new cars just have so much more going on. Our only concern is trunk space. In the next year or so, we will have a child, and likely a second around the time the lease ends. We'd also like a dog (a retriever, perhaps) in the near term.
I think the dog could fit, and 2 child seats can fit, but whether they all fit together, with the misc crap each requires, is another question.
So I am wondering, does anybody else have young kids and a medium sized dog?

Used to have 2 English Bulldogs and 2 children. Now we have 3 children and three baby seats in the rear.

Thanks for the feedback! I guess my real concern is a stroller + retriever in the back.

I can't imagine getting a QX80. Out of budget, and it's the sportiness of the QX70 that draws me to Infiniti. If I need more space, it'd likely be the new XC90 or an X5.

I put 2 dogs in the hatch with 2 baby/child seats in the back seat. There isn't too much room for much else. With 1 dog, I suppose you can use some trunk space. The rear floorboard may be your main cargo areas left.
Adding a stroller may be a challenge. I can fit either a single or double stroller (without dogs) and that takes up most of the trunk space.
It all depends on the well packed shuffle, but you will be limited.

When I had the dogs I'd put both in the back and the strollers in cargo attached to the hitch. Now 3 baby seats and strollers fit fine in the back. Tight but fine.

It'll work. Don't forget you'll have storage space next to the baby seat in the rear of the car as well. In the early days your spouse will likely sit in the back with the infant, so that frees up the passenger seat for cargo space as well. It'll be tight, but it'll work. If you have a second child or get another dog then you may think about upgrading size.

Wife and I are facing this same challenge now as we expect a child in January, and already have an 80lb pit bull. We are trying to think creatively on how storage with the whole family + dog will go, but I think it'll work. I've also got a roof rack (which i love the look of but hate the functionality; it is so loud at 40+ mph) and considering getting a rear hitched storage system as well, just in case.
