Car
2009 FX 35
Hey everyone,

I don't own an FX or QX yet, but I'm definitely considering one for my next car. I currently own a 2010 A4 and am a veteran member on Audizine, the main forum for Audis. I still owe about 30 months of payments but am aggresively trying to pay it off by December (in 9 months). I then plan to save up for a nice used FX or QX, ideally certified pre owned.

I'm hoping to learn as much as I can about the FX/QX before buying one.

I look forward to meeting some friendly folks here.

Welcome to scene, where in so cal you located?

Wanted to share a recent pic of my ride. I'll be driving her until I pay her off.

I like the look of that body style A4, especially when lowered like yours. What is your take on maintenance and ownership costs as they get older and higher in mileage?

Thank you all!

StuLax, i bought my car certified pre owned with about 32,000 miles on April 2nd 2013 and i am now at 92,000 miles 3 years later and have only had to do regular maintenance. The only real issue I've encountered with my car is with oil consumption. Thankfully, Audi of America took responsibility and offered to rebuild the engine completely free of charge. I got new pistons and rings at 88,000 miles. That was last Christmas.
According to the dealer who performed the work, the cost of such a job would be between $6000 and $8000. I got it for free.
Other than that, the car has been good! I've had one minor issue, but i was able to fix it myself. It was the door actuator. I had to replace it at about 7x,xxx miles.

The car drives smoothly and i hope to keep it for another two years with no issues! We'll see what happens once I hit the 100,000 mark! That's why I want to get into an FX! Ive noticed that these go well into the 200,000 range with no major issues!

One more thing, I love my Audi's great looks! It's a classy and great looking car and feels very solid. The interior is very nice and comfortable. My original plan was to keep it for as long as I can, so we will see if it proves to be reliable. If not, then it's FX for the win!

Edit.
Here's a pdf of the maintenance schedule.
