Hello all,

I have a 2011 FX35 with most of the bells and whistles. Now that it is getting colder, I have noticed that my side mirrors don't seem to defrost when they are frosted up or clear if they have a bunch of condensation on them. Pretty annoying. The front and rear windshield's seem to be defrosting just fine.

Do you guys have this problem. Is there a button I don't know about somewhere. :) There sure are a lot of buttons. I don't have a manual.

Thanks,

Biggy

it's possible you don't have it. That's one thing about infiniti I hate, my base TL in 2005 had bluetooth and defrosting side mirrors, my 2007 infiniti doesn't because "it's part of a package". It's down right embarrassing

So with your FX when you press your rear window defrost button , the side mirrors don't defrost. When you press that switch both the rear window and side mirror defrosters should come on. It is the switch below the front defrost button.

You should locate and download the Users manual from the internet.

Same here, Wayne. Press the rear window defroster, and the mirrors will heat up, eventually. I found the front windshield defrosts better with the A/C, not the heater on.......(owner's manual)

i think it standard on the fx. when you press rear defrost, it activates the side mirrors

I also discovered this feature after 5.5 yrs of owning my FX; very happy about the discovery lol just pressed the rear defrost button as Wayne mentioned and voila! side mirrors defogged in less than a minute

This isn't an FX thing this, is just a physics thing. The AC unit has a condensor in it, therefore the air coming out has very little condensation, whereas just pumping warm air does nothing to remove condensation from the cabin of a car.

Sweet... Thanks guys.. I will give the rear defroster button a shot.. To see if that may be what I am missing.. It's cold outside this morning, so I think I will be able to tell.
