GTSPEC + Nismo brace for 2nd Gen 2009+ FX

So I finally got to test fit the front brace. It fit very easily and with no hassle. It is being powder coated right now; satin black bases and red cross bar - before final installation which will be in about 2 weeks. The center engine cover will have to be slightly shaved, but I can still make it fit without shaving it.

@PEEJ: Did you leave the black brackets in or did you remove them when installing the brace? I think JBAKER said he left his on.
@ Ka Fai (vendor): are we supposed to leave the black OE bracket in place or remove it?

There was some minor rust on the parts of the base that were not painted properly - hence powder coating it; also there were spots that were not welded. The vendor (Kai Fai) assured me that it won't cause any structural issues and he will give me a new set if something does happen. Its good to have at least that support. I'll take pics of the missing welds when it comes back from coating.

Nima,

As we discuss with the mechanic about the welding. Your strut bar (engraving Infiniti font and logo with grey color base), its the old style one. The New style strut bar (metallic blue base) improved the welding spot. Its no structure problem on it.

Promise you send you a new style one, if something hapoen one day. :good:

Here are the parts after being powder coated. They'll be installed next week and I'll post some more pics.

And this one shows a gap in the weld.

While test fitting the rear lateral brace we figured its rubbing on the ARK flange. So it was shaved a bit to give it a couple mm clearance and sprayed black with the appropriate paint, this picture shows the flange before it was shaved, an after install pic will be posted later..

Thank you, Yeah he mentioned that! I'm waiting for my order of brake lines to get in before my next visit in a couple weeks

I've been away from North America as some urgent family matters that I had to attend to. I'll be sure to post a pic following the install.

I'll have to shave the top cover a bit to make it fit properly. I also took out the black OE bracket before installing the front brace brackets. I could be baised, but the car handles much different. Sharper turns, feels great.

And here's the brake lines and rear rotors:

Right now, the car handles better and the brakes seem a lot more effective without the soft pedal feeling. I'll have to drive it for a few days and see how things break in.

Yes sir. I was there most of the day
Darn, I was right by there this afternoon, on my way back to Kincardine. I was going to stop in, wish I had of, we could have met up.
