Thoughts on Pirelli Scorpion Verde All-Season Plus

In the market for some all-season tires in the coming months. Although I live in the Cleveland area, I really don't want to run winter tires due to storage reasons and feel that solid, all-season tires with above-average snow ability might serve me well. So my question centers on the Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus. Any white weather experience with these from the forum? Tire Rack reviews have rated them very high- with very solid light, heavy snow and ice capability. They seem like they would be a great match with my FX37.

I'm also looking at the Yokahama Parada, and I know that they are well-respected on here for the FX application. Still the Pirelli has the higher overall numbers across the board. And suspected longer wear than the Parada. All for roughly $100+ more for the set.

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

I like them better than the Parada-X for a standard highway/city driver. I'm not sure if you have a Continental option, but that is my top tire brand.

I am in Madison, WI and have that very tire. They have been on my FX for almost two years and they have done great, no complaints whatsoever. Do not expect the increased gas mileage they advertise with that tire though. Overall though, very happy with them. They have worn well and continue to be reasonably quiet.

which one the pirellis?

Assume that you mean that you have the Pirelli, being in WI, I'm sure that they've seen some snow. I'm more concerned with getting through the occasional Lake Effect snow event than gas mileage. Have they performed well in the snow?

Yes, I have the Pirellis. With AWD you will be fine. I drove through the end of an 11 inch downfall this past winter with no concerns, took it like a champ.

Checkout The Yokohama Geolander A/T-S.
Im running them on my OE Rims.
They are great in the Snow and Summer Months with a 50k wear rating.

Well after much research I settled on some tires finally. I bought the Nokian WRG3 SUV "all-weather" tires. With a heavy bias towards winter driving, but with four season capability, I'm thinking that these might be a good fit for NE Ohio. Initial impressions are that they are softer than the Bridgestones that they replaced. Nice looking tire and I can definitely see that they will be very effective come winter. On some curvy roads, I really couldn't see any loss in the handling, but they felt heavier and not as quick in the turn in. Tire noise was essentially no different. Curious to see if there is any impact on fuel economy.

I considered those and decided agonist them because they are essentially winter tires. I was too concerned with excessive summer tire wear if I went with them. By all means though, keep us updated on how that goes.

Will do. I was concerned as well about the wear, but they have a 580 tread rating and X5 drivers on the Bimmer forums regularly boast of 40k+ mileage on them. Hopeful that these will be a good solution for the FX37.
