Hi Guys

I have problem with cdplayer after loading the player rattles but does not pick up/lift the cd.
I had it replaced by another radio/cd unit but problem is the same!
So it cant be the cd player i would expect.
Did you guys have had this problem and what did you do (accept sold the car) to solve it?

Help would be appreciated

Btw i read this thread with another CD-player problem hidden in another subject thread:

Part two consist of me fixing my CD player.
About 4-5 years ago, a bit over a year after we bought the FX, the CD player wouldn't eject nor accept any discs.. it seemed like it was jammed.
I had a 10 year warranty, so I assumed that if I took it to the dealer, they would fix or replace the unit.
Incorrect, they said I had to buy a whole new system.. which made no sense, don't you agree?
So this week, I randomly tried to eject or insert a new disc and the CD door wouldn't open.. so I took the risk of opening the radio bezel to see what the problem was.
The problem was that the lever on the bezel wasn't being pushed in ENOUGH by some mechanical rod that normally pushes it all the way.
In fact, I found that pushing the radio bezel in really hard, while eject or inserting the disk would only open the CD half way.
So what did I do..?
I cut a piece of my old Aeropostale sandal (old favorite :( ). I cut a .5 cm by .5 cm square. It was about.. a little above 1 cm. deep?
Dabbed it in hot glue and placed it on the mechanical rod inside the CD player that pushes the lever on the inside of the radio bezel.

WALA! It works 100% now!!!
Here's the pic of the white sandal piece on the rod that gives it that extra push:

I have not heard or know anyone with the rattling noise problem though. Possibly that the radio stack is not tighten down or it hitting something that when the CD player spins it creates more vibrations that causes the rattle?

Thanks but it is all thight and with two different units same problem? could it be the connection with the frontunit? however it reacts ok on a command on the front

and yes tried afterwards to find your link back again but couldn't find it but thought it would fit in this thread hope you dont mind.
BTW it is not so easy to find something about CD because you have to fill in 3 caracters to search about this subject.

So the problem with your unit now is that, besides the rattling, the CD player doesn't eject because it isn't lifted?

Try sending a video of your problem

Sent from my SGH-M919

I can not sent video but the cd stays low in the unit after loading and the "wheel" that is above the cd turns round and you hear a rattling sound (you can see that happening while the front is of but connected) and the 2 (wheel/cd) do not get together so you cant play the cd at all.

Hmm, never heard of that before. I do know before I did the ghetto 'eject' trick I diagnosed it with the faceplate off.

If I were you, I would take off the console cover, so you see what's happening behind there. Mind you, you will still need to leave the connections plugged on the right of the cover so that you can do commands

I bought a radio cd player for my FX35 because cd player wasnt loading anymore on Ebay from Midnightautoparts payed 167 usd and 75 usd for shipping and import tax so together 242 usd installed it but did not work either. So be careful buying the used radio cd players they do not seem to be reliable.
This one was dusty and even rusty on the inside and the inside mechanism was not good at all, although they sold it as "in good working order and ready to install" They did not respond to my question for a solution said to reset the radio ( what is not possible and does not work for the cd player) and did not accept a return and so lost all of my money. So Midnightautoparts dont buy there, unreliable store unfortunately.

If their add reads "no returns", that makes for a stronger case for the seller but still, they wrote it works. I'd take photos of the rust & dust and if you had a shop install it, ask them to send you a brief email to read that the unit was DOA, then send all that shit to Ebay via "return" under the item you bought and call Ebay as well. If this company doesn't respond to Ebay, Ebay may very well reimburse you anyway. It should fall under their policy, whateverthehell it's called. I'd tell'em I want the whole amount, shipping included!
