Side mirror folding

Newbie here.

I have a FX35-09. Location: Qatar, temp: 47 Degrees C!

My drivers side side mirror has stopped folding. When I click Open/Close, I can here the motor doing something... but the mirror does nothing.

Does anyone know how I can re-engage the side mirror into the gears? I did search through IS to see if I could find a tutorial... but to no avail.

Can anyone help?

The screws on the inside probably need to be tightened. This has been discussed in numerous threads. Most peoples mirrors start out vibrating because they are loose but if not fixed will probably get to the point of no fold. Try reading through this whole thread it helped me a while ago.

I didn't realize our mirrors could fold in? I was aware of them tilting the mirror downwards when you put it in reverse on either the left or right side. What am I missing?

It is the button labeled open/close. Top row, two from the left.

Thanks bud, I never even noticed it was there! I guess I kinda just glossed over it since I wasn't used to seeing it on my M35.

Yes and if you leave that little switch above the open/close close button (the switch that allows you to choose left/right when you adjust the side mirrors) set to left or right....... when you put the car in reverse that mirror will tilt down to assist with seeing the curb when parking.
