2010 EX35 USB Issue

Hello everyone I am new here, I just bought the EX35 second hand 2010 and everything in the car is nice except the USB port.

When I connect my iPhone 5s it doesn't do anything, no charging no connection. When I plug in a USB flash drive same thing happens, one of my flash drives has a red light on it when I connect it it blinks for two seconds and that's it. When I connect the old (Classic iPod) or a Samsung device they charge but I can't play music. It is certified pre-owned and the people at the dealership services center don't know what is the problem.

So far I tried flash drives, iPhones, iPods, and Samsung phones. The best I could get was the iPod and the Samsung to charge.

I've looked online for a solution and couldn't find anything for the last week.

Does anyone know what is the problem or any way to fix this? I would really appreciate it.

Cheers!

I had this exact same problem on my 2012 FX. I took it to the dealer and they fixed it. Don't know what they did though.

Huh, the dealer didn't know anything about this, I guess I'll have to go back to them again. How long did it take to fix it? I'm assuming a cable needs to be replaced in the center console but I don't really want to touch anything there myself until I give up.

An update: When I press the DISC-AUX button it gives me only the following options: DISC, AUX, Bluetooth, Music Box... nothing about USB

That's weird when I took it to them they fixed it. It just took a day, got it done while I was getting service done.
