OEM GT-R's compared to reproductions

what stamp or other details can I look for to verify that the GT-R's are OEM and not reproductions?

I don't know if they come in 20", but definitely in 18". Real GTR wheels will have Rays stamped on the back as someone said. Of course the stamp can be faked, but I don't think any replica company would risk it. I've never seem a rep with the actual maker of the wheel on the back like Rays, Volk, or BBS. That would basically guarantee a lawsuit. Right now, they can just claim their design is inspired by the original and you really can't copyright a wheel style.
 
Gotta love the way the guys on the "my350z" forum bash each other. The dudes asking for feedback and they just bashing. WTF???

There are a handful of OG's in that thread. They get sick of stupid posts like that where people who bought the car super cheap are trying to cheap out even more. It happens so often now too. "I have $5k, how can I get 500 HP?" You should probably take that $5k and use it to pay off part of the horrible loan you got on this car that you are going to be under on very soon.
 
It's actually a lot more efficient to have people blasted like that. It helps weed out those who are too lazy to do their own research and clog up the forums with useless posts that end up making it harder to actually find stuff. You can only ask the same questions so many times. If you look at a lot of the meanest guys, they actually have the most knowledge and are helpful if you ask an intelligent question.

The same thing is happening on lots of forums. bimmerpost is the same way, and G35driver; pretty much anytime a car drops to the $10K price point, a whole new type of owner purchases and they are very different than the folks who spent $40-50K on the car when new. I personally like the negativity, it keeps people on their toes. If you do research and contribute, you'll get a lot of value. If you're lazy and just ask dumb questions and get offended easily, you leave very soon. Forums that are too nice tend to have the least information because people spend all of their time congratulating people or agreeing with questionable ideas instead of actually having proper discourse and discussions. It's not just car forums - cars, bicycles, triathlons, motorcycles - same rules apply.
 
I don't think I've made a single thread on my350 since getting a Z. I have however read through lots of threads. I've only made 14 though, and all in OT.

Very true. Check any forum (my350z, g35driver, rx8club, e46fanatics, etc.) you get newer members posting threads like "best exhaust" or "best mod under $500" almost daily. Then when someone comes on and replies with SEARCH then these kids cry like babies with SMH.

Anywho.. about this thread. Yes there are the reps in 18", there are no known rep 20s
