1-2 shift very fast

Recently picked up a 2012 FX35 LE. After trading in my 08 with a 5 speed trans, getting used to the 7 speed is becoming annoying.

Is it normal for the 1-2 shift to happen so quickly? It doesnt hold first gear for very long. After the 1-2 shift, it seems to pull like a freight train in second gear. I have read many complaints about the downshift lag time but nothing really concerning this issue.

Since this is a used car (only 15k miles though) would it be wise to disconnect battery to "reset" the driving parameters?

i guess its just coming from the 5 speed is tricking your mind. mine doesnt have any issues... or maybe try DS mode? i always use it on the freeway because the tranny shift between 5-6-7th gear so often

it always searches for the gear to put less strain / use less fuel.. nature of a gearbox with so many gears. I hate driving it in auto mode, even DS likes to switch around a lot although it does it much less. I use my paddles 90% of the time.

1st gear is very steep...if you are stomping it off the line, be prepared to shift quickly into 2nd. Just takes getting used to. It would be a better transmission with a double clutch system. It would probably shave 1/2 a second off the 0-60 time.
 
How would a dual clutch manual be better? An auto can shift just as fast and the only advantage of a DCT would be launch control.

FWIW, DCT doesn't work well for towing which is why I can't think of any SUV that uses one.

Me 2 95% of the time on Manual mode, hate how it do change from 4th to 5th an dhate more after I did Mods in car specially with cat-back. Started to notice it more with sound higher.
