noob when it comes to rims, will these work

Wanted to know if this will work with my FX. Really like the look of the Niche Milans

Tires will be yoko parada spec-x, 285/30R22 V
Rims are Niche Milans, 22" x 10.5", +40 Offset, 5x114.3 Bolt Pattern, 72.6mm Hub. or 22" x 10.5", +20 Offset, 5x114.3 Bolt Pattern, 71.8mm Hub (don't know what most of this means)

I plan on either getting coilovers or springs depending on what will work best with these rims

Thank you for any help as i don't know much about rims. May add other options as well
 
The FX hub size is 66.1mm....so you will need hub-centric rings to make these fit. Bolt pattern is correct.

Also I would go 265/40 R22 to stay close to stock circumference and keep odometer in check...this is what I run.
 
Thank you for the response. I was talking to a local dealer and he said to go with 22/35/265 for tires. Told him i wanted the niche milan rims. What is the ideal wheel size? is 22x9 ok? will i need spacers? Sorry if these have been asked before, i just don't like walking into a shop ans not have any knowkedge of what i'm buying
 
10.5s will be too big for the front...depending on the offset, it's hard to tell until you put them on. I have 22x9.5 all around and have 265/40/22 and I'm lowered with no rubbing issues and also have 25mm spacers on all four. Originally my tire dealer gave me 265/35/22 and it was way too thin...the ride was harsh and it will also screw up the odometer. For 22 rims best tire size is 265/40 for the FX...right amount of rubber and is almost identical to stock tire revs so the
odometer stays true.

Also putting 265/35 on a 10.5 inch rim will stretch the tire even further...the sidewall will be 2 thin...u run the risk of hitting a ditch and bending your rim.
It's ok for a lighter sports car but not a heavy SUV...you need more rubber between the road and the rim. Don't listen to that guy...I did and had to change
my tires a week later
 
Thanks a lot, i am understanding. So i can go with 22x9 all around and put 25 mm spacers on all four wheels to make them flush. For tires i will go with 22/40/265 as i want my odometer to be accurate. Are you on coilovers or springs?

^^^i agree. So what would be the correct offset. I like the Niche Milan rims. What wheel should i buy? 22x9, 22x10, 22x10.5? I guess the best tire would be 22/40/265. If anyone knows the Niche Milan rims, what wheels would be best? I'm reading a lot but not getting it. I'm a stereo guy lol
 
Really depends what you're looking for, but IMO, the perfect wheel for a 1st Gen FX is a 20x10.5 wide +25 offset. Done deal, no spacers. & of course dropped
 
I would check the offset...but not always possible to get the correct offset depending on the rim you want. Many of us here have spacers and have no issues...just
make sure to get quality ones like H&Rs...had mine for 5 years now and they are fine. It all depends how flush you want the rims but if you can get the correct offset that would def be better. Only real way to truly tell is to go there and test fit the rim you want....that's what I did and then later decided to add spacers.
 
gto you're bringing me back to 20's, i was originally going to get a 20" rim. I was looking at the Ruffino Boss rims in 20" but they only come in 20x9 for the FX. As you can see i like the Vossen cv3 look but not the price. I'm assuming anything under 10.5 will need spacers

I wouldnt assume that. There are wheels with some aggressive offsets out there.
20 vs. 22? I like the look of both, but the 20's open you up to more tire options
 
22x10.5 ET25 offset will work exactly the same as 20x10.5 ET25.

The diameter of the rim has no impact on the offset, it's only offset and width that matter.
 
So i still want the Niche Milans but the lowest offset is 20, so will this combo work, 22x10.5-20 offset, 5x114.3 and 71.8 hub with 22/40/265 tires. I am still deciding on coilovers or springs. I know most rim shops have hubcentric rings, so i assume the 71.8 hub shouldn't be an issue. Will this set up be pretty flush
 
Yes you will be very close to flush. Probably about 5mm tucked in the back and 10mm tucked in the front if you add H&R springs. Maybe a little more tucked if you get coils and ake the car really low.
 
Thank you Meme, so this is a good rim size for our FX? One last thing, i've been looking for hubcentric rings but can only find 66.1-73.1. Will this work or do i need to find hubcentric rings that are 66.1-71.8? Hmmm just deciding if i should get 22's and springs or 20's and coilovers, same rims
 
ok, so i spoke with a local dealer and what i can get are 22x10.5,20 offset with a 5x115 bolt pattern. Apparently a hubcentric ring will take care of the difference between 5x114.3 and 5x115. So a 10.5 up front is fine? Sorry for all the questions, buying this size on all of your recommendations and advice. Again i don't know much about rims other than sizes and widths
 
Do you have pic of wheels?
What offset choice do you have on the 20s, and how wide?

Weight would be a good thing to save. A good smaller wheel and coils could shave off 150
