Question about crackle , pop exhaust .

I'm talking about the popping/crackle sound when the car decelerates. You know what I mean somethink like those Audi's https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dy3t-1bprrQ


I have FX37S , how I can make this crackle/popping sound ? Does the ARK and Invidia exhaust do it, and if yes which one more ?

I read on a forum that its not only the exhaust system that helps to make this sound but its the tune and setup of the ecu and engine which makes it crack and pop, just like on the c63 amg
 
Yeah, I read also, this is the unburned fuel in the exhaust, but I think the ARK has this this crack and pop, I'm asking someone who has ARK or Invidia to tell me which one crack and pop more .
 
I have the ark and it does not pop like that. The Invidia from what I heard does not do that as well.
 
Yup. It is the unburned fuel and the air fuel ratio. If the ratio of air and fuel is rich, it will crack and pop like the F-type. It all has to do with the tune and computer like Dracula said. My Invidia pops two times consistantly on every downshift in DS mode. Always two times
 
He has aftermarket hfc's or test pipes on his, I forgot, but mine does not pop like that. The mic on the camera is not good as well, not capturing the true sound.

Ya there will be a change in sound but personally I think it sounds like crap

Look up on YouTube g37 or g35 with hfc and stock exhaust and you can see how it sounds.
 
Thank you ! Well if I buy the ARK , from where I can buy hfc and what they should be ?

my invidia pops during downshifts and yes sometimes it does pop like when i rev it alot. but still its a very muffled pop.

You'd have to make the car run a lot richer to get that sound on decel. If you rev your car up a lot then let off, you might get the pop a little bit since there's more unburned fuel. The VQ can do it, one of my old cars was a Maxima w/ VQ30 and custom turbo set up. It would pop on decel like that, but it was running 670cc injectors (stock was 254cc) and very rich at lower rpm's because the tuning back then was much more basic than now. You could also smell the unburned fuel and every once in a while, I'd get flame out the exhaust (no cats).

Right now my other car is a 335i and that car pops and gurgles on decel all the time, you don't even have to be on the gas hard. But it's also a factory turbo set up and runs a bit rich.
 
This sounds like crap bro. He posted that video on here a few years back after he took off the ARK exhaust because his dad was borrowing his FX for a few weeks. He wanted to show everyone how bad it sounds with Test pipes on a stock exhaust. But if that's what you like then go for it.
