Hey everyone! I was deciding to purchase a new vehicle very soon and basically narrowed down my search to the 2014 SRT Jeep and the 2014 BMW X6 xDrive35i. I really love both of the vehicles but its hard for me to lay a finger on "the" one. I will really appreciate everyone's opinions.

I like the Jeeps, although I worry how they will feel inside. I think the new models have come a long way though and should be better. I'm not a fan of the X6 styling, so Jeep would be the answer for me between those two, but there might be other options I would consider if something about the Jeep didn't jive.

I love BMWs so I say go with that. But SRT is mighty fine as well. You can't go wrong with what ever you choose.

Oh just to edit, I'd rather go with X5 than X6

X5 over X6.

On that same note I really disliked the new X5 when it came out, but having seen it around, and especially the M-sport, it has grown on me greatly.

I'm looking for the most reliable of these 2 as it will be my daily driver. Having said that, I'm interested in knowing which of these 2 have the lowest maintenance costs on the long term.
And no I will not be giving away my Infiniti just in case anyone is wondering xD

The Jeep will be cheaper in the long long term (10 years) but the Bimmer will be cheaper in the short term (3 yrs maintenance included)

To me, the X6 had some weird curves in the wrong places but drives really nice. Between the two, I'd pick the SRT for it's brute power and hardy appearance + more utility. If X5 will be included in the conversation, I'd lean towards the X5.

In this instance, I think the Jeep is the better choice. It's way more practical than an X6 - that weird roofline makes carrying anything impossible. And since you're comparing an SRT with the 35, the SRT is going to be so much faster. If it was a 50, it would be closer. But the X6 w/ the I6 isn't fast, the Jeep hits 60mph probably 2 seconds quicker (and with the '14, you get the 8 speed vs. the old transmission).

X5 vs. Jeep, I'd take the X5.

Reliable and BMW/Jeep do not belong in the same sentence together. X6 is piss poor in the snow, X5 is considerably better (range rover lineage carry-over), the Jeep is also good in the slop among the 3. Jeep SRT is cheaper, but the X5 M-sport is absolutely sick. For a real treat, try this: http://www.gtspirit.com/2014/03/05/official-hamann-bmw-x5/

Yes, that's a 335 tire on the rear of that bad boy. That's disgusting. You wouldn't want that.

I like Hamann, some of their body work looks nice. But they really need to get their wheels out of the late '90s. They've been using that same wheel since forever and it's so ugly. I get that it's probably really strong, but the style doesn't match anything. But they along with Alpina have been using that style wheel for years now.

And FWIW, you don't need a widebody to get a 335 tire in there, you can do it with the stock flares. I think stock tire width is already 315.

In a couple of years, I'd really like the new style X5M. I really wanted the last gen, but now that the new one is out, it looks so dated. I've wanted the new style since I saw one of the camo prototypes rolling down the highway.

Yes, the M-sport is a 315 tire. My buddy owns a BMW shop and he has guys in there with their X5 M-sports getting new tires all the time. They usually burn up in about 10k miles. I cannot imagine having to replace a 335 tire every year, that's gotta be a tad pricey.

I've driven my friend's SRT and have test drove the X6, I honestly prefer the Jeep over the BMW.
Simply because of the ride comfort with the Jeep and the interior looks and feels great.
I've hear the X6 over time has alot of electrical issues, that's why I passed on the X6 and got the FX35 LE.

i gotta admit though, quality and reliability of my 04 fx35 still outtakes a standard same year bmw x5 in all (engine, suspension, ride and etc). I only like the M build bmws because the standard ones always break and literally will have stupid things go wrong. If i had a choice to get a new x5 or a used x5 M, ill get the x5M..
