2012 ML350
Well guys, it's been fun. After 120k miles, our family's 05 FX was getting a little tired. Still coulda gone strong for a couple more years I think, but we wanted a change, so off to a new experience. It was great hanging around here, and thank you all for the tips and help along the way!

Farewell good friend...our 1st gen FX...

And the replacement...2012 Mercedes ML350, white with brown full leather...

Very nice! The FX served us well, and I will miss it. Who knows...maybe when the next gen QX comes out, I'll be back!

Hey guys, after a few weeks with the ML, I can only say that you guys are not missing all that much. The ML is nice and everything, but the driving experience is very disconnected. Its steering is very non-communicative and has too much power assist. It's almost too luxurious like, and besides the somewhat decent straight line oomph, is not really for guys who like to drive. Good thing my wife likes it, and is using it as the family hauler. I'm making due with an Audi A4 as my daily commuter to work now, and it's fine, but I can see myself getting another FX/QX one day! The QX rocks! Keep on enjoying these cars fellas!

Sad to see you don't like the ML, I love my ML 550 especially in sport mode. 402hp and 443 lb-ft of torque, thing is a beast. I do agree on the ride though, it's too soft and luxurious, but switching to sport mode def helps in stiffening up the suspension for a more sporty feel. The fx on the other hand handles awesome and is more sportier in all aspects. Both rides are def catered to diff people.

I don't have that kinda power in the ML350...I'm sure it makes up for a lot, but I guess the thing that really did it for me in the FX was that to me, it drove and handled just like a car. I drove a QX, and it was the same thing...very car like, and it felt really connected to the road. I have a Porsche Boxster as a weekend car, and have always liked cars with good handling. The ML just feels like a tall station wagon to me. It's ok...my wife still loves the ML, so it's fine, but if I had to drive it everyday, I'd rather have an FX or Porsche Cayenne (those drive like an FX too).
