Hi guys, I'm new to the forum, I'm Cesar just purchased my first 2005 infiniti fx35 a few weeks ago, almost 10 years old truck but seemed in good conditions and its doing good so far, & proud owner since it took me all my savings money to get that baby. I just have an issue with the subwoofer, factory bose subwoofer, it goes on and off, If I give it a little "tap" it works again. So I'm trying to replace the subwoofer with a 10' kicker subwoofer and a 250W kicker amp, I seen a thread with the DIY wiring, has anyone done that and if there's much of a difference? Sorry I'm a newbie and infinitis fx wiring seems a little complicated, thank you.

Yes, I mean I used to have that set up in my old hyundai elantra, it sounded amazing, but the bose factory subwoofer sounds decent so will probably do the change to the aftermarket one

Huge difference adding an aftermarket amp and sub. You'll be glad you did

not sure what FYI wiring is, I assume you meant DIY? Many replace the sub with aftermarket, no issues to report. I pulled the sub singal from the factory wiring harness since it is right there in the trunk and can use with the factory Bose head unit.

more info on adding a sub yourself:
