Will these snow tires and rims work for my 2008 Fx35?

I have a 2008 fx35 awd with 265/60/18 tires. I recently found someone who has a 2011 fx35 trying to sell his snowtires.
They are blizzak dm-v1 255/65/17 mounted on msw type14 silver rims 17x8 with a 5-114.3 bolt pattern.
I called my dealer and they said they should work. The guy selling them called tirerack and was told that the offset would cause them
not to fit my fx35.

Im not sure who to believe but would love to get these. Can someone please offer some insight?
Thanks!

The offset is 45 mm

It will fit. Since the diameter of the Blizzak is about .5 " smaller then your stock tire, your speedometer will show about 1 mph slower reading then your actual speed.

Tirerack said they wont work because the 2008 has an offset of mid to low 30s and the ones I want to buy are mid 40s.

I asked if i can use them anyways and they said they do not recommend them.

Any more thoughts on this greatly appreciated...I dont know alot about tires, offset, etc.. but I do know that I need some new tires and if compatible these would be a good deal. Thanks!

Your stock offset on a 1st Gen is 40mm.

Thanks guys. Im going to check them out thos evening. Is there anything I should look out for?
Make sure the tires are not older than 6 years, you can google to find out tire age from the number on the side of the tire. Tires should not be used after 6 years.
If you aren't sure about the fit, ask if you can test fit one on the front.

Yes that makes perfect sense. Thanks for everyone's help. Im excited to get them put on tomorrow to see if they'll work out.

Okay cool. I couldn't formulate the thought in my head to text for some reason. lol

Good luck. And make sure to post up pics when you have them on. :good:

So far so good!! Just got them put on and out for a test ride. Only caveat is that the tpms sensors aren't reading. They came with the snow tires.

Has anyone ever encountered such an issue?

Oof, I think there was a thread about that. I believe at some point in the 2nd gen life cycle they changed the frequency for the TPMS, which means those likely will not work with your car.
