has anyone tried putting on a 2nd gen rear bumper on to a 1st gen. i know they are the same size its just new head lights and tail lights. just asking so if you have tried lmk! thanks

Isn't that Ray's car w/ a custom body kit? It's not a 2nd gen bumper.

Can you put a 2nd gen bumper on a 1st gen? Sure, but it would require so much cutting/grafting that it wouldn't be worth it. Even imotion who grafted an aftermarket 2nd gen bumper to his first said it wasn't really worth it. It would have been cheaper to use a G35 or similar. He ended up using the upper half of his OEM bumper and the lower half of the 2nd gen aftermarket kit. But there was so much cutting that he almost could have used any bumper. Just because they're the same general dimensions doesn't mean that they have the same mounting points or contours. It's like saying well all cars are about the same size, just different headlights and taillights.

Pretty much this.

If you want a bodykit aside from the front bumper (which rookie had a mold made for), you need to go completely custom.

There is nothing which can be easily modded to fit, anything you buy would simply be for a starting point and you would need to modify and cut, graft, and fill to make it fit and look good.

My bodyki is for sale as well guys. Went in production back in the day. Only front design i custom re-made after loosing the lip on the highway after about 4 miles.
www.koenigseder.at company is located in Austria but they have US dealers i think.

Now you know how we euro's felt many years when the dollar rate was so strong LOL. On a serious not i gues it depends with whom or what you compare these prices. I had to inquiry a bodykit for a mercedes V classe from japan for a client of mine wich was even more expensive.

It's not that steep for a low volume body kit like that. A lot of the JDM kits for various cars run $8-$15K for the original ones. It's why there's such a huge replica market with makers like VIS and Extreme Dimensions.

Well said shadow.....that is exactly what i mean. As you know i'm in the wheel bussines and nowadays People are almost used to these crazy cheap ass pricing for replica oem audi...VW...mercedes and bmw wheels that these prices almost look to be the new "standard" for wheels.

that's just it, this isn't a car usually modified, hence there aren't any replica kits out there, or any kits in general
