I just installed new calipers, rotors, and pads. Bled the brakes 3 times and I only have brake pressure when the car is off. Also only after pumping the 3 times while driving. Now I'm at the mechanics shop and they are having the same problem. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Did you install them on the wrong side? I forget if the bleed screw is on top or middle. But if it's supposed to be on top and you install on wrong side, you'll never get all the air out. I remember it did take forever to bleed the rears after I installed new lines.

Another question. . How does your mechanic not immediately notice that the bleeders were facing down? I'd fond another place for the future. Better yet, ask :iS2: first :)

Lmao, yeah how awesome was that.

I actually brought some upgraded calipers, rotors, and some green stuff pads. So on the new calipers the valve points straight outward. So at first glance, and to shots of rum they looked identical. And yes it was a 3 pump stop rule in full affect. Definitely a lesson learned.

So what exactly was the issue? You used new calipers and the bleed screw was in the wrong place so some air got trapped?

The brakes were installed on the wrong sides and thus were upside down. air was trapped inside and unable to be bled out. At least that what I am assuming.

If anyone asked me to do their brakes, I would of done the same "up-side-down" method. I learned something new!

Basically, it seems he got 2 new calipers and they were put on the wrong side. Maybe rum was involved...

I only know about this because I believe Andy posted a while back about how he couldn't bleed his fronts properly and that was the issue. So when I was doing my Akebono's, I paid a lot of attention to the location of bleed screws and now it's just stuck in my head.

Lol, you guys are all right. The aftermarket caliper bleed screw is pointed different then factory. And I mounted then on the wrong sides. But after the switch they are working great.
