FX45 - high flow cats or test pipes?

Hi all,

I've been searching the last little while for a definite answer and can only seem to find information for the fx35 not the fx45.

I have a 04 fx45 v8 - I would like to know which option is available to me. Are there test pipes for the fx45 or are there high flow cats?

If yes to either, can someone name a brand or some options so I can move forward with purchasing. If anyone has past experience, feel free to share. All the best!

so far I have done my research in regards to the kakaumei y pipe however that is quite expensive...

The 03-05 FX45 should be the same (I assume). They modified the cats for MYs 06-08 in the 45.
 
Test pipes are just, pipes..... How loud do you want to go? If you pick up a decent pair of 300 cell cats you will still have a bit of sound dampening with plenty of flow. What exhaust are you running?

Right now just flowmaster 80.........yea i think id like to get resonated pipes or some high flow cats for better AIR FLOW and no rasp. any best bang for buck reccomendations on which and where to buy?

kept the resonator on cus didnt want the dronage

rtp = resonated test pipes. they are like regular cheaper test pipes, only they are packed usually with fiberglass. I think most members buy Berks

Do what I did - look all over the z/g forums and you'll find a deal.

Sort of.. they are test pipes with a resonator on each one...
 
They should, but keep in mind that resonated test pipes will rasp. They just have less rasp than non resonated test pipes. They will still be louder than HFC's because HFC's have actual catalytic material that the exhaust gases have to flow through. This cuts a lot of noise out. The resonator in most test pipes is very small and it's still a straight through pipe with perforations on the side for some exhaust to go through.

Not sure on exact fit, hate to make the call. You can always slice and dice, it just gets more expensive.

Megan racing V2 pipe fits - their site says its 304 stainless but mine rotted off the car in less than 2 years
and Kakumei makes one - price is good but shipping is expensive also states 304 stainless but im not sure I want to chance this one either

What direction did you end up going? Im looking for HFC for my 03 FX45 since i had a cat just go out. Did you find a set that bolted on directly?
