Hey all.

We bought our 06 fx35 with 50k miles back in 2009. Since then I dont recall if I ever did a transmission fluid drain/fill or flush. Car is currently nearing 140k.

Previous replacements were Front hubs (both) in 2011, brakes (2010, 2012, 2014), power steering rack (2011), power steering pump (2013), Alternator and battery 6/2014.

We recently bought a 2013 JX35, and my brother in law took over the fx35. He wants to know if he should change transmission fluid?

Ive heard previously that If you have not done it, then changing the fluid could cause the transmission to go bad?
To my knowledge I havent felt any tranmission issues in the car.

Just wanted to get some advice.. Thanks guys

100K miles is where most of us change the trans fluid. Given the mileage, you should. Drain and fill should not harm the tran. Do not do a flush.

Oops, you're right. Should be around 60K
Recommend to do the transfer case and differential fluid too, if they have not been changed.

Its 60k on atf. 30k for front/rear diff and t case. But if your not towing or doing anything extreme, 60k on all fluid works as well. I did my diff at 30k and it came out nearly as clean as it was put in.
