DRL Question

My fiance has an 07 fx35 and I had a quick question regarding the DRL's. I saw in some pictures people have the yellow light (closest to the fender) come on with their DRLs. My fiance's DRL only consists of the inner most light with the clear lens and the yellow light only comes on when the turn signals/hazards are on. Is that how it's supposed to be?
 
Thanks for the links! So the turn signal housing should definitely NOT be on with the inner DRL's right? The switchback basically wires it so it does turn on with the DRL's but has the capability to be both DRL and turn signal?
 
Right, the turn signal should NOT be on the inner rectangular light from the factory.
Right on the switchback wiring.

The way I wires my switchback is I ran an independent source from the ignition switch such that when the key is in the On position, the white led comes on/off with ignition. The amber is source from the factory turn signal.

Ah ok great. I was confused with all the pictures I'd see with the lights on. Thought her car was messed up or something. Thanks for clarifying! Can't wait to past the 10 posts so I can show what I've done to it.
