so i bought the pac aai-nis box and after reading more and more reviews i think i wasted my money. most complain of hearing engine noise and low volume. what new units is everyone using to combat these problems?

That looks nice I saw a thread on someone's install. My issue is this, I have an aftermarket rear flip down dvd player. It has audio outs in the form of RCA's. I want to be able to run it inline with the radio. I don't want to use the fm modulator, makes more sense when I get my video interface hooked up as well. another downside I own nothing apple lol. So that being said I need something RCA connection with 2 inputs preferred. that's why I chose the PAC box.

looks like it has one set of aux inputs on it. let me ask, does the unit directly connect to power from the radio? you don't have to splice in ACC or power wires right?

It is DIRECT plug and play, i have never used the RCA's but i use the Ipod frequiently, sometimes it takes a couple tries clicking to XM to get it to see the Ipod, but thats never concerned me. the sound quality is excellent.

I have OEM Nissan one, no issues or sound quality problems. Displays text. Only sad thing is, old iPod style port only.

Has anyone ever tried the I-Simple? Seems pretty decent still by the makers of PAC Audio so I'm kinda stand off ish. but you can hook it up to a Sirius xm tuner which would be nice. plus it also has RCA's. Spec usa looks nice to so many decisions. What's the oem one Turtle?

USA Spec retains the XM/Sirius radio. im not sure how it does this as I dont subsribe but seriously. i have had a USA Spec, in, 98 Dakota, 02 Dakota, 98 Civic, 04 Vibe, 01 Mercedes SLK 04 Silverado. never had one complaint. you could even install possibly a switch? to switch from RCA inputs, 2 inputs 1 output type deal so wire in your 2 inputs your output to the USA Spec. not sure exactly on that just an idea that poped into my head

OEM kit, it was an option when we our infiniti, kinda like the all weather mats. Its like a xm module if u ever saw it. Pretty rare these days and somewhat dated (because it only uses the old iPod 30pin) but I like it because I have the 60gb video iPod. It plays directly like the radio, steering wheel controls works, shows text on the screen and charges the iPod.

Its a plug n play kit to where ur xm module is, rather then back of ur radio. I bought mines from a fx owner so I know it works.

Did anybody ever confirm that part number 24016-CG000 is in fact the correct part number for the rear entertainment system harness? The one that we can tap into for an aux input..

I dunno, I ended up using the PAC older style and only paid 35.00 for it on ebay. I believe there are still some up for sale. It works great, sure you have to notch up the volume a little more but it sounds decent cd quality.

I'm using the USA Spec unit as well. I have both the iPod plug and a 3.5mm plug in the gloive box.

On another note, what are some other android/iPhone music streaming services out there? Both Spotify and IHeartRadio suck. I hear the same songs everyday just like an FM station.

I used the rear NAV input method, shown here (edit:l can't post links, but google "how to add aux input to your fx" and you'll see it). I did not have the harness pre-installed, so I wired directly to the back of the head unit. It worked great! No noise at all, and I didn't need a booster.
