Bumpshox license plate frame

Has anyone put a bumpshox license plate frame on their fx? My Oem plastic housing where the license plate gets screwed onto was crushed twice by 2 diff idiots who backed into my car in front of me. I was thinking of getting a bumpshox since I am having trouble finding a bull bar to fit my 04 at a reasonable price.

The Oem plastic housing was $70 from dealer. A bumpshox license frame is about $40

I am wondering if the bumpshox has helped anyone and if you had to take off our Oem license plastic housing in order to put on. Seems like if u don't take it off it will crush anyway with a bumpshox.

I was always curious how well these worked...not curious enough to buy one though.

Hi sideswipe did u remove your Oem license plate bracket to make it fit? Or did u just put it right on top of it. Sorry not getting notifications. They have this on amazon n advance auto parts also

I know someone that has it in NYC, they love it. It has saved his car plenty of times.

There are also different sizes and strengths if you want it less noticeable.
 
I was thinking this can go on top but wouldn't it still crush your Oem bracket if a car backed up hard onto your bumpshox n Oem bracket. That is only thing I was worried about being that I had to replace my Oem bracket twice

There is also someone selling the xl version on eBay for $35 same price on amazon but with shipping included if you don't have prime

Yes guess it is better with Oem bracket I was thinking same thing with our bumper design it seems the Oem bracket is what makes it sit flush with the grooves our bumpers have. Thanks I will probally order the one thru eBay

Had this for over a year now. Im not too thrilled with the way it looks but definitely a plus in NYC parking, specially during winter (snow).
