Berk test pipes

Hey guys i was deciding on whether to pull the trigger on some berk test pipes for the fx but i have a few questions. Just to confirm its for a 350z so this should bolt up no problem right? Im using it with the stock exhaust. Also it comes with the extended o2 sensor bung on it already so i should be good in terms with cel? Also ive heard stories about test pipes banging on the body because theres no brackets to support it. Anyone with this problem and a simple fix? Thanks guys for any imput before i pull the trigger on these!

If needed, any exhaust shop can weld a bracket on. And you may or may not get CEL w/ extended bung. Some people get it, some don't. Some people use steel mesh or packing in the bung to help with CEL's. Guess it lets a little less exhaust in which may fool the O2 sensor just enough.

Yea thats my biggest concern right now with the cel. Im not sure if my logic is correct but im thinking with test pipes already with extended bung if i get a cel theres basically nothing i can do about it. With hfc if i get a cel then i could put on the o2 bung and it should go away. Kind of stuck between test pipe and hfc

Well, you can modify the bung on test pipes. If you look at Motordyne ART pipes (glorified test pipes) the bung is at a 90. Supposedly that's what helps keep the CEL off on those.

test pipe will be louder but more gains. Just extend the bung pipe even more if it throws a light. 90* angle is best. I have that on my test pipes and NO CEL.

on my old Kinetix HFC on my FX35 they just had a bung extension and still no CEL (no 90 angle needed)

Hmmm..., I was under the impression that there is no noticiable gains, just loud Exhaust noise. Also, you may run into a problem when it comes Emission check. Then again I could be wrong.

Yea i think im going to get the berk test pipes. Hopefully no cel. If i do get one ill have to extend it and at 90 degrees. Not sure what it looks like though. Anyone have pics? Also for inspection in ny, well based off my knowledge its just plug in to the odb2 so as long as i dont have the cel i should be good

Google an image of Motordyne's ART Pipes. It's just a 90 degree elbow, nothing fancy. And some people use pot scrubber material stuffed into the bung to help. But it's one of those things where you won't know if it's an issue until you install them.

sounds good. as you said ill just install them, hopefully no problems. If any probelms ill just try that pot scrubber method seems cool lol or just buy the bung extenders that are at 90 degree angle and hopefully it works

Sounds good. Btw what is the size of our stock exhaust? 2.25, 2.5", etc?

Im also debating on whether to get the flowmaster 80 series muffler too? think it will be too loud with test pipes (obnoxious, fart can etc)?

Spacer doesn't impact A/F ratio. It just moves the O2 sensor out further so it gets less exhaust, this tricks the O2 sensor into thinking there is a cat there. If the front O2 and back O2 read the same thing which is what happens with a test pipe, the car assumes the cat's have failed.

Decided against them. I found a gtr muffler/midpipe for a price i couldnt resist so i went along with that. Had it for over a month now but never installed. My welder hasnt been able to do it for me so im just waiting on him to get it done.
