Has anyone else noticed the bass on the 2nd gen FX's seems to be much lighter compared to the 1st gen?

Either my sub is dead or Infiniti lowered the subwoofer output...

Your subs may not be "broken in" - however I think it depends on which input you are using. My iPod, for example, plays louder than my satellite, which is a bit quieter than the radio. i didn't have the factory system in for long enough to break it in, but I agree that it was pretty week as far as car audio goes. I guess I'm a bit biased because I always had subs in my old one. My brother's '10 G37 has a pretty banging system for a factory system, however. You actually need to turn the bass down for it to sound normal... Maybe you should double check the wiring on your unit?

I'll have to test the different inputs and see if there's a difference. I'm going through bluetooth streaming from my phone. My phone's bluetooth volume is maxed out. A friend of mine bought the Nissan Leaf (EV) and his Bose system sounds better than mine and his is a cut down version (to conserve electricity). He was playing through his XM setup though.

I'll take a song and test it through CD, USB, and bluetooth and compare. I checked the sub and its working but it doesn't feel as powerful as the 1st gen. I think the 1st gen sub is larger in size...
