Hi folks, today boston is packed of snow , I was getting out of my driveway this morning , and my wife was outside watching the scene, lol , and she asked me if the AWD LOCK BUTTON WAS ON, I told her yes, and she told me that only the rear wheels were spinning.
My question is , when the button is on " lock position" all wheels suposto be spinning ??? , or something's wrong with it!
Tnx

For the '03, AWD lock is basically snow mode for the rest of us. Except it doesn't reduce throttle inputs. But just because the AWD is locked 50/50 doesn't mean it can't slip. All it's doing is splitting power 50/50 to front and back instead of letting system decide. Still open differentials so if rear wheels are on slick surface they still spin some. It's not like 4x4 mode on trucks where the wheels are essentially locked together.

FWD based AWD vs. RWD based AWD does make a difference. FWD cars are better than RWD cars in snow.

AWD lock works decently in snow. I just used snow mode last week when Atlanta froze over and it worked pretty well to get moving.

Thnx shadow , I thought it was like the trucks! :/
