Never been so nervous. It can come out looking great or be a total fail. I'm just glad i left my car in good hands.
Side Skirts from G35 sedan and rear from 2nd gen FX35.
There's a lot of cutting to make it all work.

I'm intrigued...
I'm still nervous. When i dropped off the rear valance and put it up to the car i didn't like it. It suck out way too much and looked like more trouble then what its worth. The body guy said don't worry, he'll cut it up and make it flow.
Only time will determine if I'll have a nice body kit or have to start from scratch again.
The side skirts have been cut down about 6 inches and he's rebuilding the sections on the ends and inside the doors to make it legit. Right now the side skirt seems to swoop in too much on the bottom so he's gonna work on straightening it out. its only been a few days of work so far.

Nice. I'm interested how it will come out also. I'm still on the fence whether to buy Rookie's bumper or not, the unfinished sides and rear is bothering me a lot.

Are you planning on making any molds(if you succeed)?

Probably not going to make the mold. Labor on these are killing me already. I'm probably in $4000 on side and rear already. That's for parts, labor, paint and all.

Wow $4000 is a lot man. Maybe the shop will give a discount, if you can sell couple kits(sides and rear) like that.

Whoa!! Well no one said custom is cheap!! For that you better get hell of a detailed work done!! Your FX will def be one of a kind after that :)

Those sides look nice. Were they the right length out of the box?
they had to chop off 6 inches

I was worried this would happen, had to pull out the whole system to take the back bumper off.

Glad they build up the part of the side skirt that goes inside the door jam. Most people would have just trimmed and left it at that.

Ah, I see now. Got excited there for a second thinking you just needed to cut off pieces to make it fit around the doors. :disapointed:

Yeah, you'd never recoup the mold costs. How many Rookie bumpers were sold? Like 5 including you? It's cool that you're doing something unique.

I'm curious why they had to take 6" off. Isn't the wheelbase the same? Weird that a G sedan skirt would be so long.

Probably not going to make the mold. Labor on these are killing me already. I'm probably in $4000 on side and rear already. That's for parts, labor, paint and all.
