2016 Infiniti QX70

I owned my 09FX35 for a few years and now have owned my FX50s for over a year and I find it as smooth or smoother than my FX35 was. I love it and would purchase another. I don't understand what you mean by a choppy V8 engine.

I've also owned an FX35, as a matter of fact before my 50, I owned a 2006 35 and an 2008 35 and no way is the 50 smoother than those two. I'm not talking power just plain smoothness when the car is accelerating and decelerating. The 50 is definitely a little choppy in fast acceleration and deceleration. I don't know if you drive hard or not but if you don't you'd probably never notice. I've even had an instance where I was braking super hard and the engine raced a little while the rpms were dropping. I know I'm not the only one who has experienced these issues they are the same issues everyone was experiencing before the transmission updates. The last update Infiniti had was for the FX35 and did not include the 50 but the 50 still has noticeable shifting issues.

aw okay you are talking about the transmissions, I'm comparing mine to a 2nd Gen FX35 not a 1st Gen. I have never owned a 1st Gen just driven one a couple of times and they are smoother. I realize there have been problems with the 2nd Gen transmission on both V6 and V8.
So far mine has been fine, touch wood

Yeah don't get me wrong the car is still a beast, and it must be beautiful to have no noticeable issues, I was just simply stating that I can see them having some justifiable reasons for possibly going back to the drawing board with the V8 in the FX. Hopefully they bring it back.

Yes I sure like mine, today I went for a 5 hour drive. It's great to have the power when you want it.

Hey gang, so what's the good word? Anyone pick up a 2015 QX70 Sport package yet? I can't find one dealership within 100 miles of NYC that has one in stock yet! That being said (warning off topic) this guy is teasing me very badly:

Even the Mrs is onboard. She has become obsessed with that color! At least she's consistent. Haha.

Wow that color and the wheels look dope, plus supercharged right? I would go for it. Always good for a change. The 2015's are already out in dealers in Cali, I have seen a few driving around town already.

I have owned a 2009 FX35, and a 2012 FX50. The 09 was adequate (especially after the transmission reflash), but the 50 was noticeably smoother moving the FX's 4500+ pounds. I can't compare to earlier FX's as the previous poster did. But, I can say I never had any issues with the V-8 engine or high revving transmission speeds. It flat out hauls when you need it. The only complaint I have is sometimes the "tip in" is a little clunky if you are working through stop and go traffic.

Dude, forget the SQ5 and go test drive Porsche Macan. After my FX35 that's what I am getting. I drove SQ5 and Macan and Macan is wayyyy more refined, interior materials are amazing quality and it drives like a 911 not an SUV. You can also customize the Macan from a huge list of custom options. I am in love already. :smile (2):

Hey man you don't have to tell me twice! I love that little bad-ass truck! Unfortunately for me, they don't lease too well not to mention the fact that my wife doesn't like the stigma of driving a Porsche. She hated mine and refuses to drive one herself. But truthfully, this compact SUV has some mean lines! I think it would be a sexy replacement for her FX!

LOL Stigma ?? I think if you are driving a KIA or Ford SUV that carries a stigma lolz... I had the pleasure of taking extended test drive, and I absolutely love everything about this baby. It's a driver's car and that's it. And yeah, don't ya go calling it a "truck" if you are at the dealership, they will throw you out

The Ford Edge sport is actually pretty nice lol...

Also you have never owned a Porsche if you don't know about the stigma that comes with driving one.

Much like how every escalade is owned by a drug dealer...

I know what you are alluding to, but not every Porsche is $150K , if that's what people think, well WTF, that's their problem.

I am getting one for sure, price tag is about the same as QX70 "Sport" , well at least in Canada, not sure about US market.

My wife said the other day that neighbors will stop talking to us if they see a Porsche in the driveway, I said "good, finally some peace" :rotfl::tongue:

Looks like the 2015s have already hit the dealerships! I found 160 of them already. I'm loving this all-new sport package with the gloss black 21" wheels, blackout grille, paddle shifters and the quilted seats from the FX50S!!! I think we definitely found our next car. Already called up today to find out lease rates. Apparently they are terrible but next month expected to be a bit better! SO HOT!

I'd one just to do that, shut them up. I'm sure the rumors would just start flying about my employment lol. I really am tempted.
