Don't know if anyone has seen this but they have officially made a cheap replica of the OEM skirt kit. I thought it was pretty funny, I wonder how it would hold up. Some well placed nuts, bolts, washers and double sided 3M tape with promoter may keep the front lip on good lmao.

Scroll down the pages to see full pictures. The front lip auction doesn't have any pictures but the second link has plenty.

2 different vendors. Maybe from the same company? Do you remember which vendor you used exactly? From your statement and pictures it does not look bad at all, plus with the savings on top thats a steal for that price!

I don't exactly know what you find funny about this replica kit. I've had it on for a good 6 months now and its holding up really well, all for $160usd.

You might want to check out this link

There is no reason to hate on the chinese replica, I think it looks good. With proper installation and the avoidance of curbs the plastic should hold up. However, I would not trust their color matching option or quality of paint.

I'm about to start on my '12 FX and the body kit is on my list. I've always bought from the dealer - but this might be worth it. Is it ABS or? And the cost for all four pieces was only 160USD?

Well I don't know about you spending $160 USD but as you can see, on the ebay link I posted the front lip alone is $300 USD and shipping is another $300 USD and that is pretty damn funny. Who's spending $600 on an aftermarket front lip coming from china? Then the two rear pieces are another $160 USD.

Where did you purchase yours for $160 USD. If the lip works, that price is worth a go, but definitely not $600 to experiment with fitment and durability.

Honestly I would stick with oem. Ive looked at all his pictures carefully and I keep seeing this wierd line or crease in the front lip he has. Doesnt look too good and pictures dont show defecte thwt maybe you can only see in person.

If you look at the last picture on page 5 you can see this wierd vertical crease by the foglight. It cant be the camera b3cause this crease turns up in all the pics he took. Someone pointed it out.

The type of things that are expected from a prefabricated aftermarket kit. Unless it was custom made for your car by someone directly working on your car, most aftermarket body kits will require some sort of tweaking or maybe even major work like sanding and trimming and such to fit properly. Not knocking it though, $160 may make the extra effort of not being able to just pop it directly on worth it.

$600 dollars, for just the front lip coming from China, with a "paint may not match disclaimer", on the other hand is lol's all day.

You're right about the crease in the front lip but its actually more noticeable in the picture than it does in person. I didn't even know it existed till someone pointed it out and I went to look at the car in person. Honestly, it doesn't bother me one bit.

On a side note. I personally would have gone OEM too if I could easily buy it in Hong Kong but my dealer wouldn't sell them. Also having it color matched from the manufacturer is a big plus. At about $160usd I took the risk and bought it just for kicks and as it turns it, it was a pretty good fit at an unbeatable value. This was just a kit that I wanted to slap on before I could get my hands on the Vettel.

Its usually a hit or miss with these things especially when buying from Taobao. I don't remember which one I bought from but I pretty much went with the cheapest one (money wise) and hoped for the best lol.

You're right, its really hard to get the colors to match and in daylight, I do see a tad difference in color. From my knowledge from my shop, fitment was not a big problem since it was just a lip all round.

They say its Polypropylene (PP) and yes its a total of 5 pcs for around $160usd. I've probably seen it for less at around $60usd for the full kit but I didn't really trust those sellers.
