I would like to get a definite answer on which banjo bolts to use with the Akebono calipers. I have searched and read through a few of the threads about the upgrade and could not get an exact answer. I see that some people used the stoptech bolts(772.21707) and reamed them down a bit. Has anyone used the Stoptech 772.21707S banjo bolts? These are a little bit shorter. Another question I had was about the caliper bolts. Do I need different/new calipers bolts to mount the calipers down or can I use the original bolts from the stock calipers?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Even with the shorter bolts, you may have to modify them. I got the shorter ones and still had to shorten them. You can use your original caliper bolts to mount the Akebono's.

I used 772.21707 and just shortened them. I did not use the original bolts (to attach caliper) from my old calipers, they were to long and touched the rotor. I used the ones that came with Akebono kit.

How did the caliper bolts touch the rotor? That's weird that yours were too long and I have plenty of clearance even though I reused mine. I wonder if it's because mine had the 2 piston brakes and the caliper bolts are already different.

I am not sure, but I remember when I put the bolts in, my rotor was stuck, not moving at all... I was like, WTF.... took me 30 minutes to figure out that actually the bolts were pinching it in... On the second thought, maybe it was other way around, the new gen bolts caused it??? Just remember running into it....

Ok thanks guys.

Now I need to figure out which caliper bolts to use to mount them.

Use the ones your current calipers are bolted with. Should be no trouble

Still looking thru the plethora of threads talking about the Akebono upgrades...but figured I would ask.
Is there a banjo bolt I can buy that will work when using the OEM brake lines on the front Akebono calipers? I would rather not modify the oem bolt if I don't have to.
Thanks!

If you buy the ss lines for a G37 sport, you wont have to cut the bolts down. They're made for akebono calipers.
