DTRL's for US Vehicles

Newbie, so I ask your forbearance, I've tried all sots of search combinations and so far no results. I recently traded in our 09 Murano LE for a 2012 FX. In the Mo, we were able to turn the fog lights into DTRL's with a fairly simple change in computer settings at the Nissan dealership. Is there any similar setting change that you all are aware of for the FX? Obviously the Canadian vehicles have the DTRL's, and I would expect that they are essentially the same vehicle. With the weather turning, I'd really like to have the option of having running lights on the FX.

Hmmm interesting, did any 2nd Gen owner have ask the dealer about this?

Hmmm that's interesting indeed, I am going to the dealer next week for service so I will ask. If not it's Handy Andy to the rescue for me :)

no the FX isn't wired the same way. I asked my dealer (unless they didn't know about it) - I think hardwiring or the KP tech module is the way to go

Hmmm, so you're saying that a Canadian FX is different than the US version. OK, so what is the KP Tech module? And thanks in advance.

Andy is currently figuring out the wiring diagram for the 2nd get. If it looks like it will work then he will be doing it on my ride. The Kp technologies is a independent fog light module in which you can use your stock fog light switch to turn on the fogs as a DTRL or turn off if wanted.

:smile (2): I got it all figured out Rip. Don't have time this weekend. Next Sunday works for you?

Sure next weekend sounds great. I'll PM you this week to figure out a day and time

Anything more on this? I'd love to get DRL's as our weather is certainly turning lousy. The Kp Tech solution sounds like a viable option if it works.
Thanks!

Yes, and thanks for the link. Looking at that, and knowing my capabilities, I don't think that I would want to attempt it. To old, too slow, and no place to do it in comfort. Now, I'd happily pay a reasonable cost to get that done, if there's someone close by in the PNW! Wonder what our Canuck neighbors can offer?
