Yokohama or Falken?

I know tires have been beat to death around here but wanted newer opinions. I have Yoko Pradas which are worn out. Looking at replacing with another set of them or Falken ZIEX S/TZ04. Anyone tried those? I have H&R springs, stock wheels and am running 275/45/20.

thoughts?

Falkens look good but break traction in rain quite easily. Found myself in some situations when trying to take turns, even at normal speeds.

I just bought the Yokos but haven't installed them. Based on reviews the Yokos and the hankook ventus were the top rated tires, especially for our rides.

Falkens never rate high for our rides, all vehicles respond to tires differently but there are two tires that are time tested and true. Not sure why you would step outside the known factor, I have done so only when I have needed a specific size and have always wished I could have stuck with the best reviewed.

I like the new Yokos (580?), but the spec-x's i ran for 20k miles were TERRIBLE tires. I used to run Falken fk-452 on my M3, and those were some incredible tires, especially for the money.

I also have the Yokohama YK580 tires and must say that they are great handling tires in the rain and grips like cat claws on the curves. I can not say if they are better than the other Yokohama tires or Falkins, but they are better than the OEM tires hands down in my opinion.

:plus1: had the same experience with Falkens. Go with Yokohama or Hankook tires

Again I would suggest searching out write ups, reviews and opinions that match up tires with cars. Weights and varying suspensions will make one set of rubber worthless on one ride and stellar on another. Many variables to consider......

I didn't mention it but I had the Spec-X's on my FX and I would never buy them again. I would buy the YK580 again.. they have a treadwear warranty, ride quieter, smoother and grip much better than the spec-x.

I saw the spec-x as a highly reviewed and well-rated tire for the FX everywhere I looked, but they didn't last nearly as long as they should have.. TRASH tires.
