anyone had experience with air bags for the springs in the rear for the fx? handy andy mentioned it and i looked into some kits and found this.
The reason i want to raise the back up is because i have a cargo carrier and it puts lots of stress on the rear shocks ( bottomed out couple times).

anyone know do i need to bring it to a mechanic to install?

Oh cool, didn't know there is one specifically for the FX. I was going to pull my Air Lift 1000 cargo helper bag off my Sienna to test fit it with an stock spring and H&R. Well now that you found one specifically for the FX, it'll be better off with this one then.

Install is very straight forward. Just have to jack up the rear to relief the spring compression and work the deflated bag and plates into the spring visa the coil openings. You shouldn't have any problem installing it yourself. I hope the picture on is just a generic picture on link. As we all know, the top rubber spring mount/seat is a cone shape. The two plates on the picture is flat and I don't see how they can seat right.

It definitely help if you have that much cargo. I helps in my Sienna until a recent leak. Mine is 9 years old and I think it time to replace anyway.

Air Lift 1000. I checked, they don't have one for our FX specifically. Good that you find the Firestone band. Back when I decided to get one for the Sienna, it really just a color preference that I went with Air Lift. :smile (2):

i bought the firestone. will c how it works. thanks for the help.

I installed the air bags today and the install was easy. Didn't get a chance to try them out but at the end of the month ill update since im going on a road trip. Overall the quality seems good. Material seems strong. The only thing that bugs me is it didn't come with pucks on either end of the bag like their other models. When the car is on the ground, the top and the bottom puts load on the bags. Ive contacted them and waiting for a reply back.

:good: Looks like heavy duty quality. I like how the hose being attached to the nipple and valve on this brand. The Air Lift 1000 uses a zip tie to secure the hose to the nipple and valves after a snug fit. I may get this for the Sienna once I determine where the leak is in my current setup.

I was able to take the fx on a daily drive through some speed bumps and rail roads at 5psi per side and it seems like the back is stiffer and less jumpy which i really like. gonna try 10 psi one day and see the difference. Also put some of that wire plastic guard on the tubing to protect it from rubbing against anything.

Do you think this will fit 35? I would love to get this for towing my bikes... was pretty low while moving to TX this past weekend...

Yeah, I'm a bit concern with no rubber disc/plate on the top and bottom where bag seat on the spring bucket and the cone shape rubber mount. Can you tell if the top and bottom of the bag is made of thicker material then the sides. If so, maybe that how they got away with using a disc on the ends. My Air Lift 1000 uses a disc on the top and bottom and the bag's ends are not reinforced with thicker material.
