Help!!! Water on passenger floor side

2009 FX35 RWD
We have some continuous and heavy rain these days. I just noticed water on passenger floor side. May be is A/C condensation, but not sure yet. :at-wits-end:

Does anyone had a similar problem on FX35 2009+?

help to get some clue where to check will be appreciated.
 
I know duane with his fx50s had this same issue. Something behind the glove box wasnt seated right if i remember correctly.

Its the seal around the bottom of the plastic windshield cowl. If you ever remove it which you have to when you replace a battery, the factory service manual states that rubber seal in the windshield cowl needs to be replaced otherwise water will pour in near the area of the firewall.

I did this when my battery was replaced because I was aware that water would eventually come in later on if I didnt replaced this seal.

It's just a rubber seal like around the door opening. Not adhesive or loses its structure. I have no idea what the benefit would be to replace.
 
I know what seal you talk about. I saw it this afternoon when took off the windshield cowl to look on the battery compartment.

It is a thin seal strip that goes on the cowl grove were the windshield seats. Right?

Any part number for this seal? I couldn't find it online.

Its not rubber on mine its made of a sticky foam. Im sure when you remove it you must be breaking a seal

Yes its that seal.

It keeps water out of the firewall that runs down the windshield
 
I did have this problem after the dealer replaced my battery, they charged me to clean out my sun roof drains , which wasnt the problem I ended up getting my money back took the car home and turns out when they reinstalled some of the plastic coverings around the battery they did it incorrectly. Go under the hood and make sure all the plastic covering are sitting correctly between the battery and the windshield. And you might want to take the glove box out dry up behind it and change yr in cabin filter.

So Jonas, when you had your battery replaced, this seal was not replaced?
And you had no problems with moisture inside your FX .

I never said the seal wasn't replaced.

I have had 0 problems related to this and my car has been through hurricane type downpours. Like several inches in an hour type rains. I've had 0 problems with wetness. The last rain like that was about 2 weeks ago. I also have had the windshield replaced 3 or so years ago.

I'd love someone to post a picture though of what they are talking about so that I can check because I have had the battery replaced by the dealer and have taken plastic parts around the battery area off when checking a fuse once in that location and when working in that area I don't recall any type of adhesive a long time ago. Also had remote start, sub system, etc all hooked up through that area a few years ago.

Can one of you guys take a picture of the seal you guys are talking about. From what I remember, it's just a rubber non adhesive seal.

I also check my cabin filter frequently and there has never been any moisture there.
 
Thanks, I just asked if it was replaced or not, because you have never mentioned any problems.
 
I will take some pictures next time I take cowl out.

In the meantime I did put duck tape on the cowl water drainage which is close to a/c air intake. I'm suspecting ton of water going thru that drainage may have some leakage on the wire hardness that goes into the firewall (the cowl drainage is right on top).
