Some picture of my 2nd DIY wrap. This time on Scion IQ. Took me 44 hours total from start to end, no help, one man job 4 days straight. Came out better than my FX I think. Didn't really like the HX20000 series, it's much thinner than my HX30000 vinyl, but it was on clearance after all. Roof is wrapped in 3M 1080 Gloss black. Interior door handles and "cobra hood" were color matched also. Total of 15-16 yards of matte orange and 60"x60" gloss black vinyl were used. No waste this time:ninja:
Cell phone pictures.
First I double washed the IQ with soap

Emblem removal

The thinnest factory paint I've ever seen. You can see the black spots.

Splash guards were removed also to wrap the fenders and quarter panels

Mirrors and plastic trim were removed to wrap the doors

Bumpers were removed to finish the edges in future

all plastic trims were removed also

Ready to wrap

Bumpers were PITA to wrap because of those boomerang shaped things with recessed channels on the sides

The easiest part to wrap on the IQ

This time I was trying to pay more attention to small details like this, clean and even cuts

BTW in order to remove the taillights on IQ you need to remove the rear bumper first, WTH???

headlights were removed also in order to wrap the fenders

Quarter panel. One big piece of vinyl

My attempt to plastidip the emblems, mirror covers and some bumper trims in white. This is the only picture I have. It was my first try and I REALLY don't like plastidip stuff at all after that. Looked very ugly when I was done plastdipping them, don't even have pictures. Never again:rotfl:

Air release channels, air bubbles is not a problem at all

Emblems are back on

3M Scothlite black vinyl, reflects white. Love this stuff

3M gloss black vinyl, very forgiving material. Sorry for blurry pictures.

Antenna was removed also before wrapping the roof.
