Brake Rotors Changed 3 Times, Still having Vibrations

Hi All


Had a quick question, maybe somebody has run across this before, but I have changed my brake rotors 3 times, first two times aftermarket, stop tech, last time OEM, and Im still having vibration issues. Has anyone heard about or experienced this problem before? I was reading on a BMW forum where a guy had a similiar problem and it was because he had a nail in his back tire. One of my tires does appear to have a slow leak which Im going to get repaired, but I don't think I've had that problem as long as I have had the brake problem. Anyway thanks in advance for you help.

Have you had a good wheel balance on al 4 wheels, Roadforce is good.
Also, are you running wheel spacers or aftermarket wheels, if so are you using the proper size hub rings with them if required?
 
Is it only vibrates when braking? There are two members here found one of their steel hard brake line was crushed and caused the vibration.
 
I have aftermarket Lexani LSS-10 wheels, 22 inch, always get them road forced balanced, no spacers, but I do have steel brake lines. Thanks for the inputs guys, will get all that checked out today.
 
Yes, I do have hub centric rings. I've had the same set up since 2008, no issues, just started about 2-3 months ago. I've had my FX checked by three different shops, that what makes it frustrating. All of them said it was the rotors, NEW ROTORS mind you. That's why I finally went OEM, but still no change. Im thinking its the steel brake lines as stated by la_fx35, but I will get that checked and get roadforced balanced again as well.
 
You need to be more specific, does it only vibrate while braking ? Where is the vibration coming from? and/or where do you feel the vibration? on the steering wheel, or your buttocks/bottom seat
 
I would carefully examine all the hard steel brake lines that attached to the body/frame. Not the stainless steel flexible brake lines now. :wink:

I was getting pulsations when braking.
My rear rotors were never warped but they produced the sensation that they were when braking after about 30K miles. When I pulled mine apart to check out why it felt like they were warped, I dial indicated them. They were only running out .002". That's not enough to generate a pulsation when braking so it must have been hard spots or varing roughness of the rotor surface that was causing the problem. After I had the rotors skim cut by removing about .010" and installed new OEM pads, the braking felt perfectly fine. The pads were worn out when I pulled it apart and they were changed when I reassembled it, so the worn pads may have been contributing to the pulsations but I've never known pads to cause pulsation issues. It's alawys been a warped rotor or surface imperfections that caused pulsations for me on other vehicles.
