He guys,

I know there is plenty topics regarding CAI but most of them old and not about this kit i am looking for.

I found the Takeda Pro Dry s intake kit for the '03 - '06 350Z, G35 and FX35

Anybody here who can share some experience with this kit?
What i like on this kit is that you have a single pipe as intake without these connector rubbers to install the MAF housing, a clean look imo.
It says it's for the rectangular MAF sensor, i assume they mean the bolt flange of the sensor itself right? where the electrical plug sits on.

Anybody who has experience with this?

On the FX I had a stillen CAI, but on my other ride have a Takeda Pro Dry.

My recommendation would be the takeda. Quality is similar among both kit and fitment is 95%. However the takeda uses a dry filter that you can wash and doesn't require to be oiled. The stillen you need to oil and that can get messy.

In short, go for it!

There are several members here with Takeda intakes. PM me if you need one, I can get you a great deal on a polished or black version.

Thx for the offer....but i just ordered one through ebay....

As i read some people mentioned they bought a K&N replacement filter (factory oiled) and already caused issues.
I have a K&N replacement for my Golf VR6 and cleaned and oiled it myself a few times and never had issues, maybe the sensor from the FX is more sensitive or something?

To my surprise i already received the intake today. (Fastest shipping i have ever seen from USA)
So straight away i dropped everything what i was doing and started to install the intake.
Partially i am a bit disappointed, it just doesn't fit right.
I did get it in, but i had to make a spacer between the intake manifold and the bracket that supposed to direct fit.
Must be because it is for a 350Z/G35 i guess, if i look on the internet for pictures it looks like it fits perfectly on these cars.
Here also the filter element is just touching the chassis in the corner.

Anyway i will do some brainstorming to make it fit better.

Now the important parts: It looks much better and clean compared to the over engineered OEM intake, the throttle response increased noticeable.
The sound is increased, at WOT i can not hear the exhaust anymore, just the roar under the hood :smile (2):

All in all a nice upgrade but just the way it fits is a bit a PITA.

I have the takeda as well and I have the exact same problem with the fitment. I had the exact same solution as you, to add a spacer in between the plenum and bracket for the intake.

I was also disapointed by the design flaw, I have plans to replace the filter with something a little smaller in the hopes of seeing proper fitment. The other solution i see is to move the grounding point in that area away a little and shaving down the little metal lip just a hair to allow the bracket to line up with the plenum.

First i was thinking to see if i can bend the pipe a bit...but that will cause damage for sure, i have the black one which is coated.
For now the spacer consists of a lot of M6 nuts and the bolt i used is longer, but i will find something decent for this.
I've noticed that wiring there, didn't look where its going but this harness needs to move a bit and indeed maybe some work with a Dremel tool and remove some material on that metal lip.

I will see tomorrow if i can shoot a video.

Yeah I can't quite remember right but I believe there is a grounding point somewhere near there and then the wires continue onto the fog lights. In which case there is no worries moving the grounding point and rerouting the wires.

I have the Takeda CAI with a heat shield wrapped in carbon fiber wrap. I like it and sounds pretty good too.
