What do you dislike most about your FX?

Well I bought a used Stage 4 last year around same time I think you were getting yours. According to them it was beat up and Stillen had to
have it sent to Magnusson, who actually makes the blower. This took months and they told me it would be $150 just for them to open it up
and check it out. Heard from them a few weeks ago and they said it's going to need to be re-man; new bearings, new seals and machine work done,
no estimate though on how much it will cost. They said they would let me know once they heard back from Magnusson...I'll let you know once I find out.

Hey Z...how much quicker/faster is your FX now. Are you satisfied with the results...how is the acceleration now?

I thought our SC's were made by Eaton, anyway... I'm very happy with the results. With a butt Dyno it goes really fast to me, probably because of SC noise, it feels faster than the car actually goes I think. Andy took it for a spin once and was pretty surprised how light the car felt compare to his FX45. Went to couple rally's this year and was able to keep up with some fancy fast cars.

Magnuson uses Eaton rotors/parts in their blowers. And I think with a positive displacement SC, it will feel much faster than a dyno number would lead you to think. It's all low end torque so it's fast for stoplight takeoffs and 0-60 runs. The torque really plants you into your seat. But there isn't much gain on the top end (it's just how the design works, since the cfm's entering the engine don't really increase much with rpms) so the dyno won't blow you away and it won't be that much faster in the 1/4. And you probably won't blow the doors off on highway runs. But for daily driving, I think a positive displacement SC is perfect. You get the advantages without having to run it to redline all the time like you would a Vortech.

Love the power on the Zebra's Stage 4. Makes me wanted to get a FX35 and Supercharge it.

That's great to hear guys...makes me really want to get this done soon now. Andy I know you installed Zebra's Stage 4...so I was told by Stillen
that due to stricter California Carb regulations they may only be able to install up to the Stage 2 (Carb legal) and then give me the parts for the Stage 4
and I would have to get it done myself. So was wondering how difficult it is to upgrade to the stage 4? I know it's a different pulley, extra injector and
a remapped box I believe. Appreciate any advice guys...

It's not that hard, Andy can chime in. Please don't use the Stillen software and extra injector, most people ditched the Stillen ECU and that injector. Go with UpRev instead.

No need for the extra injector. Installing the 6-rib belt and pulley is a PIA. Pay close attention to the how the pulley is to installed. The rest should be straight replacement. If I remembered correctly, you'll have to remove the entire top cover to install the intercooler if the Stage 2 doesn't includes. If that the case, its about 80% of the Stage 2 need to be undone. I would said if you can cut a deal with them on the labor and simply take the Stage 4 to a shop that will installs it for you. A custom tune is needed afterward.

Thx to both you guys....great info. The Stage 2 does come with the intercooler and Stillen said they were already going to upgrade me to the 6 rib belt
as they don't sell the 4 rib anymore. Great to know I don't need the extra injector or the Stillen black box.....would def rather have an Uprev tune.
Maybe will jst get the blower and parts from them once they are done with the re-man and take it somewhere else for install and tuning.

Z/Andy...do you recommend I change the crank pulley to the Fluidampr Balancer. Right now I have a UR lightweight one that I have been running on
for 4 yrs. But I heard somewhere that the extra weight of the Fluidampr may be better for FI engines. What's your thoughts on this?

We just installed everything together, so I can't comment on how well the Fluidampr performs compare to stock.

Ok so in your opinion would you recommend the heavier Fluidampr over the lightweight UR pulley? Is it better to have that when going supercharged?
Fluidampr is about 10 lbs - Stock is about 6 lbs - UR Lightweight Pulley is about 1 lbs.

Wondering if it's necessary to change the pulley?

I think with FI is more important the balanced pulley than the lightweight one, It's just my personal opinion. Maybe Shadow or Andy can chime on that. You can leave the pulleys stock, except one that comes with the SC.

Thx Z...yeah I think I may need to change from the UR to the Fluidampr. Just did some research and I think it is safer for the engine....long term.

The fuel level system and bubbled dash are a real pain in the @$$..... But i still love the overall performance and driving fun!

I'm not super tall, only 6'0".. but the rear-view mirror blocks a large portion of my view out the front windshield on the right, it feels a bit unsafe.

Seems like the seat should have alot more room to adjust down, but it doesn't

pull the seat forward a little and lean back

I'm keeping this car forever; now that our family grown to 3 kids and 2 dogs, I wish she had a 3rd row! Now I cruise in the Odyssey.

I am going to be alone here, and this is kind of a weird thing to dislike - but I've never liked that the cabin is so far back on the car. Makes for a smaller trunk and backseat with a longer hood to navigate. Totally compromised practicality for looks, and I don't think that even helps the looks much. This should be an X5 competitor, not an X6 competitor. Gen1 was better in this regard - more interior volume, shorter overall, looked great without trying too hard.

burner

That it burns oil like crazy. On my second fx and they both did/do the same thing. How do I fix this actually.

Spin back the clock and run synthetic oil? Once you've got oil burned onto the pistons, the whole thing needs to be taken apart. Search for rebuild oil burning fx35.
