Need offset help

Hey guys buying some new wheels and needed some advice on offsets. I wanted to get Boss RUF21 in 20x9 +20mm all around on 265/50/20 tires. Is the +20mm offset too aggressive? I know the stocks are +40mm and I read on another thread that +15mm rubs.

Car is 2006. No plans to lower.

So it should fit no rub? I'm ordering it tomorrow.

I'm in need of some help choosing an offset. I'm thinking of going with a 20 by 10 up front +40 offset and the rear 20 by 10.5 +30 offset. Will this work my car is slammed. Thanks for the help

If it helps I am running 10.5 all around with +30 and 5mm spacers in the rear w 295 meats

+40 is no problem on a 10" wheel. I'm running a +25 on a 9" right now which is within a couple of mm. With a 265 tire, it rubs at drive height over bumps and angled driveways. My height is probably close to yours, fender covers the tread on the tire. I rubbed off all the tabs holding the fender liner up already and now it occasionally rubs on the metal. When I get my fender roller in, I'll properly roll the lip up for a tiny bit more clearance.

New wheels coming in next week are 20x10.5 +35 in front and +20 in rear. I think I can get a 10mm spacer in the front to make +25. And maybe a 5mm in rear to go +15. This will be on 275/40 tires so it will have smaller rolling diameter than stock. I realized that most of my rubbing was due to the tire actually hitting the wheel wells and not because of the offset. So I'm guessing that going to a slightly smaller tire will allow me to minimize that and 275 on a 10.5" will give me a little stretch so better angle.

Which brings me to my point. Tire size is everything if you're slammed. We drive SUV's so unless you're on air, the rim is never going to hit the fender, only the tire will. Since you can run anything from a 255-305 on a 10" rim, that is a bigger determinant than offset.

Actually sold the gtrs already thinking of going with the niche Verona wheels. Butalso thinking of getting the gtrs again. love how they look on the fx. still debating. Also thanks everyone For the help

I am looking at some wheels that are 20x10.5 +25offset. Now I am not looking to lower the FX and I am planning on possibly running 295/45/20 tire on there, will this stick out too much past the fender and look stupid? I can't picture it not lowered (without camber).

In the rear it will stick out slightly, like maybe less than an inch depending on if the tires run big or small. But at stock height it wouldn't be noticeable, basically look at the guys running GTR's since I think the rears are 10.5" +25. If you want to run that offset in the front, it will stick out a good bit. I'm only running a 9" +25 right now and if I keep it at stock camber it sticks out a tiny bit so I have to adjust the camber plates to get the tire in. If you ran a 10.5" at that offset, it is another 18mm out and then if you run a 295 tire, that's going to be another 15mm vs. my 265 setup. So it would stick out well over an inch which even at stock height would be somewhat noticeable.

I didn't see any pictures of GTR wheel guys running them on stock suspension. And most of those guys are running a staggered setup anyway. I am looking at a square setup. Thanks tho

It's on H&R's, but the drop is so mild the look is the same. On the rear the offset is +25 and 10.5" so that gives you an idea. It's basically "flush". On the front, that setup is going to stick out. I'm about to put 10.5" +35 on the front and will use a 10mm spacer to get to +25. I'm going to run a 275 tire and have calculated that I'll still need to max out the camber to get it to fit. With a 295 tire, it's going to stick out on stock camber/height.

thanks perfect explanation and the link helped as well. I can't believe that H&R drop in those pics didn't look dropped at all. Thanks
