Yes, this is why I like them. they look "OEM+" These just replace the factory black trim. If I run wider wheels/space out more they're not likely to rub because Im still at stock height.
 
OK, again my buddy George hooked me up with info.

Proline wants $1400 for JUST THE FENDER FLARES which are essentially the same as the I-gear ($315) except they don't cover the entire fender; only 3/4 of it.

SO, it looks like the way to go is the I-GEAR fender flares. They're $315 + $85 shipping. I know $400 sounds like "a lot" for fender flares but it really is your average price for this type of thing, so I am not unhappy.

Should take 10 weeks to get here. Trying to get a few more pics from them before I make my final decision.

They're ABS plastic, come in black or for additional $ can be primed/painted (Im sticking with the AMBS plastic black to match the trim) and they apply OVER the OEM black plastic, which isn't a problem. (I wish they replaced them entirely so there was no seam, but I can always bond the pieces)

So, looks like I will be going with these. I just need to calculate the size spacers I will need to compensate for the added thickness....

The MATTE black finish ones aren't available until mid-late march, so I am holding off to order then. They should be here by april 1. The matte ones match the factory trim perfectly while the gloss black ones do not
 
I like the subtle flare on those ^. I'd do something like that on my 1st gen too if I had an option to. I don't wanna pay for custom work for this kind of stuff tho

They may fit sort of I forget how different the fender sizing is
 
My brothers new q7 comes with something just like this they would look really good on a fx!

I just want them in the MATTE black PLASTIC like in the picture. I don't want them painted anything. Just plastic. I spoke to i-gear already about it ;) Thank you

according to the owner of the car in the pictures I posted they are painted in black and covered with matte varnish.
 
Very nice Jordan, can't wait to see these mounted. Are you going to run wider tires or spacers to push your wheels out further?

Probably see how they sit with my current setup and go from there. I've been looking around at wheels but I'm also 90% sure I'm picking up a side project on Sunday so that will take away from my coilover/wheel plans for the FX for a while. If It doesn't fall through I'll probably order at least the coil overs and space out the 21's more. (I would prob need another 5mm at least)
Really want to see how it looks on my car first.

These are made for the 2nd gen, the 1st gen fenders are not the same size. I was just saying you may be able to make them fit. I can ask for you because i've been on contact with the seller, and if they fit I will get you a reduced price since I am already doing so with another iS user ;) we're both waiting for the matte ones to be available in march

No info on project until I actually get it, and it will be in a different thread ;)
