Hello good people of IS. I ran into a problem with locking and unlocking my fx yesterday. like when u lock it with keyfob its suppose to blink twice and beep the horn. but it only blinks and horn doesnt beep at all. and when u unlock its suppose to blink once but it doesnt blink at all and just unlocks the doors. is this a trip to stealorship? :\

Sounds like it went into security/valet mode. Don't know off hand how to disable, hopefully someone can chime in.

should i check the manual?

Yes, it wouldn't hurt -- that's how I fixed mine on my 2003. Same thing happened. I had to put the key in and turn the wheel or something random and it fixed it.

...Isn't this just one of the two modes when locking and unlocking your car?
I know the 1st gens have it. It's in the settings of your car and you can also change it with the keyfob.

Couldnt find it in settings:\

In the first gen, it was in the vehicle electronic settings. Where you can set the steering wheel and seat to move upon entry/exit. The setting lets you change the alarm settings as well. It let you have no horn, no beep, or which ever combo you wanted upon lock/unlock.

Hold down both the unlock and lock button on your key fob until the car beeps (like 10 seconds or something).

If that does not work then let me know, also if your A/C or clock and some interior functions are not working, you have accidentally re-initiated transportation mode. If thats the case for anyones reference here is how to exit it:

You have to:

1. turn the key to the on position
2. turn the key to the accesory position
3. pull down both the steering wheel stalks to their farthest down position
4. put the stalks back up to their normal position
5. turn the key to the on position
6. turn the car fully off and try out your key fob. If the car honks and beeps and you A/C is working on the inside you are good to go. If it does not continue on:

7.with the car fully off move the stalks all the way to their furthest most down position
8.turn the car on (engine running this time)
9. move the stalks back to their regular postion
10. turn the car off. Once again try all your A/C and keys. This time if they do not work, infiniti has once again changed their transport procedure. Contact a dealership give them your model and year and they can tell you how to remove it.

(it is worthwhile to note here that there is also a white fuse in the fuse box related to transport mode, just double check that this fuse is not broken and that it is pushed in all the way.)

Cheers,
